So I just got back from my 1st moe. show. After the 1st set I kinda threw everyone I was with because I really thought they were a very generic jamband and was wondering aloud how anyone could follow this band. Everyone I was with looked @ me like I was crazy, nothing new really;) I mean there were some good moments but overall it just angered me that if these guys were making it why can\'t the Breakfast? oh yeah moe. has a competent management team working for them so they can make music and not deal w/ B.S.
So anyway I kept an open mind for 2nd set as I was w/ old friends whom rarely if ever steer me wrong when it comes to music. Well 2nd set MOE. KICKED MY ASS FROM HERE TO THERE AND BACK AGAIN INSIDE OUT AND UPSIDE DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This was like 2 different bands. The 2nd set rivaled anything I have heard The Breakfast play or even Phish in the last 8 years. It was that phenomenal. After the 3rd song of the 2nd set it was so powerful  they joked abt ending the show right there and if they had I would have been fine w/ it not knowing what else they could pull. I really only know one moe. song words and all and that is Moth. Well closing with this really fuckin\' stoked me out ya know? I was able to sing along and get right into it and they played a MONSTROUS version. The encore Sensory Deprevation Tank? and then I Wanna Be Sedated!!!!! Hell yeah moe. is the ****. They are the next big band and if not they should be. Well If The Breakfast can ever get on track.........

Sweet it is good to know I still can pick out the Big moments in show w/o knowin\' the music/scene etc. I mean the crowd is some reflection but in the 1st set they were going nuts, for what I could not figure out, ya know? So I do not always rely on vet reactions. I just knew what was exceptional to me and it is good to know vets were as stoked as I on the same songs. Sometimes you see a show that to fans blew doors but for a newbie not so much(UM in Vegas and me).

Oh **** yeah that reminds me. I thought the guy was great. I really loved how he painted the stage. His use of conventionals to create a 2 tiered color scheme to place movers on was genius. He was real intune w/ their music and other than the corny Red, White and Blue for Capt. America he was painting up a storm. He is also the 1st LD to make use of every light in the house @ 4th & B that i recall. I would have placed the movers in some diff. spots but his design was functional. I really thought he did a great job. There is a new loft area for LD\'s @ 4th & B so I was unable to get a chance to talk to him. I will check out the controversy outta curiosity

Just checked out the board. I laugh @ discussions like this one. There are 2 types of LD\'s the type that likes to paint and the type that likes to dazzle. I prefer a mixture of the 2 only due to the music i prefer. Sure there were moments when he could have dazzled but he did not. His choice or maybe he is just getting used to his new rig.  Off topic a bit, the reason Kuroda is such an inspiration to me is he was the 1st LD I ever saw doing what I was doing only on a larger scale( unique lighting angles, color mixing and tiered stage color to name a few tricks). I mention this because I know alot of people are now looking towards lighting now when they go to shows and most could not tell a leko from a par or a Martin Mac from a High End Studio Wash. These are the same people who talk **** on an LD just because when the band was rockin\' the lights did not go berzerk. So imo moe.\'s lighting guy is just fine, but if they ever fire his ass let me know, my resume is ready!!!:)
