just saw them last night at higher ground. so good! i agree, lose the accent for stage banter but i am bnot annoyed by his voice at all, even on studio ****. sometimes it sounds goofy, but at least its unique. also, the phrasing of his vocals is pretty badass, esp on any tracks from "Hebron Gate" and "Each One Teach One". just got the new album, pumped to give it a listen.

Once I saw them live, I was no longer particularly annoyed with his voice and rather took a strange liking to it. Despite being a native northern Californian, he does present a high degree of authenticity when singing and speaking like a plant-worshipping Jah-ribbean. Most white guys just cannot pull it off without appearing completely pathetic but he does manage to do it somehow.

Not to mention their constant collaborations with some reggae legends, who are, uhhh, err, black themselves. He definitely has credibility in the scene. He also taught a history of reggae course at some Cali-college. I agree, live it feels genuine. I have also found many people to be shocked post-studio listens when they find out he is white. It\'s funny how he becomes illegitimate all of the sudden. **** Matisyahu, he\'s ruining white reggae.

Umm check the new relix there Gordo matisyahu is expanding his sound past reggae. His musical soul has grown out of the restricting confines of jah.

Yeah I saw them a few weeks ago. I wasn\'t as crazy about the show as the first time around. Second set was way too slow--Harrison was super-duper rant-heavy, and the energy was sacrificed because of it. Still a good show, but I was blown away last year.. This time, not so much.

If memory serves correct after the weed the show got way better. we **** up for waiting so long. Last night was pretty recock though huh. I am realizing at this momtent that this post is easily more than slightly homotastic. i hope this finds you well
