I\'ve seen the headliners in the past, and they are not even close to Bfast meltage. Kellar is the prize horse- others are basically meh, good for background music.
I agree that TB should be on the bill, but how can you say that Keller is the best act of the show with such acts as: DSO, The Machine, Clinton & P-Funk, DBB, moe, Guster, Levon Helm, Ratdog, Grace Potter, Buddy Guy, CSN.
I\'ll be honest, I never heard of anyone on the green stage, but there\'s some decent bands playing the main stage. It\'s too bad that TB isn\'t on this bill, it\'d be good exposure; well, at least they\'re second bill for Cabinfest...
Ok, my bad I didn\'t see the others on the site at that previous remark. P-Funk, Guster and Buddy Guy are decent.

Looks like good line-up to me - better than your usual British festival like Reading or Donington. (Glastonbury actually had Gong this year and Stackridge last year, so they are forgiven for their usual crap line-up and not lumped in with Reading etc.) As for the Green Stage, even I know Cornemeal (damn good fiddler). Anyone into the Dead would know David Gans, Chris Barron is from the Spin Doctors, though Id say Cormeal and CB are screwed in terms of audiece numbers as they are scheduled against Strangefolk and k-dub.
Now\'s the time to put the wheels in motion for NEXT year. By Sunday of this year\'s fest, the people running it are going to be accessing how it went and thinking about the next one. It would be a good time to find out what the procedure is to get on the bill.
Who do you call? When do you call? Is there anyway the Breakfast can be of assistance promoting the festival locally? What can WE do to help YOU? This attitude will go a long way.
And don\'t even bother mentioning any hard feeling about this year. It\'s a road to no where.
Dear breakfast manager-
http://gatheringofthevibes.com/2009/band+submit
start here brah, b/c most of the bands on the green vibes schedule I never heard of.
You see mr. manager it\'s a sad weekend in CT for music lovers that the breakfast is not melting faces in Bridgeport.
Signed,
anonymous
hows that for a start you honkies?
wait, the breakfast has a manager now?
what\'s the story behind the deaths at vibes this year?
I heard that it was a murder...?! I hope thats not true
phantasytour isn\'t exactly the most reliable source, but
this thread sure makes it sound like a nitrous mafia-related murder
yea as my brother was coming home from the vibes earlier today he told me that someone got their face burned off by one of the nitrous mafia members a couple rows over from his tent...but I dont know if i believe that
good times at the vibes this year. it was HOT, fighting dehydration was a battle. first time goin to vibes at this location, pretty cool, i kept forgetting i was in bridgeport, cool to have the beach right there when it was so hot. great music keller and his band was tight, pfunk, ratdog, jbb. disappointed moe\'s set got cut short due to the craziest lightning storm ever.
in regards to the death, the rumor going around at the festival was this person was killed, rolled up in a tarp. also heard they lit him on fire. not sure about the connection of who did it. in terms of nitrous mafia connection, it seemed to be the most tanks i have ever seen at a festival....by far. multiple tanks goin all day, every day. so their presence was there for sure.
btw anyone heard of the mclovins? they were the last band at the green vibes tent. band consists of 2 freshman in high school and an 8th grader on lead guitar, who looks just like mclovin (and can shred). look out for these guys in the future, they cant drive yet, but they can JAM, they bring the heat. also, wore my breakfast shirt all weekend, and a lot of love was thrown my way for the breakfast, good to see a steady following there. nice meeting all of you that i met there on the board
just saw the mclovins are opening for the breakfast at sully this weekend, make sure to check these kids out
Yes somebody died from opiate overdose.
Yes nitrous mafia murdered someone. Make clear the difference between the mafia and more or less normal festie kids who have tanks at their spot. I don\'t mind that but having 100 tanks wide open in the middle of shakedown at once and a murder... fuckers
Yes Fast Eddie broke every window and slashed tires and dragged some kid somewhere for a beatdown or worse.
Oh yeah and my backpack with digital camera and clean socks etc was stolen out of my tent on the 1st day.
GOTV is no longer a tradition for me. The scene is in a rapid state of decline. I\'ll be checking out the family affair style festivals from now on.
However Bobby and DBB totally slayed it.
but i heard it was going to be epic.......
Musically it was pretty epic. In terms of humanity it was pretty disapointing.
but hasn\'t it been this sketchy for years now?? or at least deteriorating like this for years now? i mean, i have all good as the closest out and out sketch fest so there\'s not much for me to talk about, but even i knew about gotv being up there in sketchville. hell, even bisco has held less sketchy fests lately...
I\'d say GOTV might just have matched All Good for the first time ever.
The last two years I didn\'t find to be nearly as sketch @ Seaside Park.
well, either way it really sucks that this had/has to happen at seemingly every damn fest these days. like you said, give me the smaller, family-type fests anyday!
