Gathering of the Vibes 2009 - July 23-26

I just bought my tickets last night.  $135 each for the early bird tickets.  

:chin: What\'s the chance of the Breakfast actually getting to play this summer?  Main stage would be sweet... but, even the solar stage would be nice too!  I noticed a "sonic bids" sign up on the website.

late July this year as well. a few weeks earlier than recent years. i always like it when they had it on summer solstice.

Well considering every living member of the Grateful Dead have played GOTV. Perhaps it is time for Phish

Mike has played GOTV as well. With his band as well with others.

Also it may have been why they changed the dates. If Phish is going to do a NE fest. The original date move of GOTV I believe was done to give more time between GOTV and Bonnaroo

The Terrapin folks have never really been all that keen on the Breakfast. One of our very own used to work in their office in Danbury and did whatever she could to get them on the bill. I think that is why they were given the slot in 2004 but Bob Kennedy has never been that big on them and he basically calls the entertainment shots. Why do you think AOD and DBB have never missed a GOTV.

This community doesn\'t have a lot of overlap with the terrapin community. We used to have more but I don\'t go to their messageboard very much anymore and I don\'t think I am the only one.

I went last year and it was great.  Love the venue (my first time at seaside park)  Would love to go again this year, esp with acts like P-Funk, Buddy Guy, Crosby Stills and Nash, moe., Strangefolk, and Keller, (I\'ve heard good things about Lettuce too)
but don\'t think I\'ll
A: be able to get the time off between other shows and vacation like events I\'m planning for the summer

2: be able to afford it.  damn economy.

oh and I\'ve never been to a fest with more NO2, ridiculous amounts there last year

Anyone see the interaction between Genc\'s and the girl handing out GOTV\'s fliers in front of Toad\'s on Sat?  

Hate to say it, but it doesn\'t sound like the GOTV camp is at fault for tB not being on the card.

But that may just be grapevine BS.
