Edgar Winter Kicked Some Major......

Edgar Winter was unbeliveable at Daniel St. last night.  I\'ve heard stories that his brother Johnny is barely hanging on but Edgar is in top form.  His voice is great and he played keyboards, sax and percussion as good as he always did.  Also. his band was slamming and he has some guys that bring a nice "modern" touch to his music.  The guitar player had an "Eric Johnson style" to his playing and the bass and a drummer were really really good.

Highlites were: an extended "Frankenstein with long guitar, sax, and percussion jams.  Also the closer "Tobacco Road" floored everyone....Edgar scatted complex blues riffs while the guitar copied him.  I remember that from an old vinyl record I had years ago but this went way beyond that recording....just amazing.  You had to be there to get how precise and complex his scatting was.

If you get a chance to catch the band in the near future I highy recommend it.

hmm  That\'s interesting.  I\'d expect him to be playing Toad\'s not Daniel St.  How was the crowd?  Sounds like a great show.
