Can you guys elaborate more on jazzy and funky bands that may have some intensity or good groove.

i hate bands like guster and all that folky or bluegrass stuff

Motet is a definate must!  If you havn\'t checked out the slip they are great.  Motets live disc is really cool and The Slips ALIVEELCTRIC Cd is awsome.  I know a might get some crap for this one, but I really enjoy Sound Tribe Sector 9 really good vibe from that band.  You go to sts9.com click on the community link and then click sts9 radio and find their Sesons 01 recording..... some good stuff.  Stanton Moore album "Flying the Coop" is a must listen if you like jazz/funk. Sex Mobs album "Dime Grind Palace" kicks it.  I could go on and on but check out Miles Davis\' recordings with his 60\'s quintet and you will find a whole new world of music.(Miles Smiles and Sorcerer are fantastic albums **** brew is pretty cool also.) Difinetly check out the miles!

 KDTU would not exist w/o \'em and neither would Robert Walter\'s 20th Congress. I think maybe Galactic would not be so popular if not for the trailblazing of Greyboy also. Just a thought.

hahaha when I saw someone suggest Assembly of Dust to Al I knew that wouldn\'t go over that well.

I don\'t like \'em that much either. I mean, I think they\'re alright. The guy puts his heart into his music I think, so props for that. But that fact aside... it\'s just pleasant music to listen to.
