A Tribute to Jack Johnson by Miles Davis. I was given this over a year ago and it got lost in my collection. I don\'t think I ever listened to it before last night. Dear God, it\'s like the best jam band you\'ve ever heard going at it for 40 minutes straight. Mind boggling. Definetly a recomendation, especially if you like \'on the corner\' \'**** brew\' Live/eviL\', etc

Buy the Complete Sessions instead... You can get it drastically reduced through BMG!!  Also pick up \'Agartha\', \'Get Up With It\' and \'Dark magus\'...

I\'m a fan of **** Brew. The Miles Davis CD, Live at the Fillmore East (March 7, 1970): It\'s About That Time, is a great album.

That\'s another great one (and available at the wallingford pub library taboot!). It\'s basically **** brew live. Good call spaceman.

The best thing about "It\'s About That Time" is that it\'s the only release documenting the lost quintet of Miles, Chick Corea, Dave Holland, Wayne Shorter and Jack DeJohnette.

Bunch of lousy session musicians that Miles got from a Coney Island Rehab center.

ya this is a great album....have had it on vinyl for a while now but my buddy burned me the complete sessions, which has material from live/evil and i would def say thats the way to go. also check out Pangaea....its the last release before miles took a short retirement in the late seventies.  All this music btw is significantly the influence of Jimi Hendrix on Miles.  Since the two never got to make the album they had planned on, Miles decided to add guitars to his work.

In A Silent Way is definetly his most important electric album and ranks up there as being one of the forefathers in ambient music.  McLaughlin\'s work is very stream of consciousness as Miles gave him no specific directions, he just had the band set the mood and told John to do his thing.
