Anyone else hear of this? Cut Chemist leaving I remember but calling it quits?

With very little in terms of an official announcement, Jurassic 5 recently broke up; and two members already have new albums on deck.

Chali 2na is slated to begin work on his solo debut, Fish Outta Water. The MC will also appear at Bonnaroo with Galactic and will be a special guest on the band\'s new hip-hop centric album scheduled to hit later this year.

Cut Chemist, who left J5 last year to pursue his solo career, just finished a European run as the opener for Shakira and will do a few headlining dates in California and Japan.

Cut Chemist is also working on his next album, the follow-up to last year\'s The Audience\'s Listening.

i had no idea either.. just saw on their site that apparently they split at the end of january.. sad, but honestly, they were seriously lacking without cut chemist.

shame.

Don\'t like Feedback whatsoever and they might be better off breaking up if albums like that are indicative of the direction they would have taken (generic, mainstream beats). That said, Quality Control is one of my favorite hip-hop albums of all time and Power in Numbers is hardly a slouch. Futhermore, I saw them live once and it was an outstanding performance.

I saw fiona apple on the \'when the pawn\' tour and I\'m pretty sure j5 was the opener, but that was before I heard dave or seth talking bout them (winter 99/00)
