I find it funny that they would not have even played the shows if all those people did not WALK MILES to the site. In those circumstances the band was not really in the shape to play having so many things going down as they were. I\'m surprised @ the amount of GOOD music that came out of Coventry to tell the truth.

i just dont get it leith.. if the people had to walk miles and the band arrived next to the stage via helicopter, bus, whatever, how was the band not in shape to play?? bottom line is they were on stage with two options-- go balls out for their final show or dont, they chose not to. im not calling phish a bunch of
**** in general so im not looking for you to keep defending them in general, but for that weekend it still doesnt make sense to me for them to not throw down or put more effort into the show. ill never understand, LAST SHOW, felt like a pretty random couple of shows to me. this debate will go on forever, were you there leith? cuz if not, i think you should stop arguing. that weekend was hell compared to any other festival ive ever been to.. walked through ankle-deep mud/poop (literally) all weekend just to be able to get something to eat, or
****, or see them play music. and then it just felt like, "what the
**** was all the effort put forth for?" we paid, we trekked, they got paid, and pampered.
Well from reading Kuroda\'s interview it was plain to me the band was in dissarray. This was a very TRAUMATIC event brought on by a single member of the band. The rest of the band was in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM READY OR EVEN WILLING to play a GREAT show for anyone no less themselves. Any band under those circumstances to even attempt to continue was admirable enough. The only REASON they PLAYED AT ALL was because YOU and thouands of other Phans walked in through all sorts of BS. and this is the thanks they get?
those shows were the thanks we got?!
You rather they pulled up stakes and not played at all? Come on now. I know you may be upset but it was stressful on not just the phans but all of them even Chris.
but come on man, they announced the show almost 3 months before that, i know it was traumatic for everyone but if they werent willing they shouldnt have called for the show in the first place. it still had to be a collective decision as a band to have a festival like last show in their home state,
**** it sounded huge immediately, shouldve been huge. but whatever, i gotta stop doing this it just gets me too worked up. i know, theyre just people too.
Well i know having run lighting on a large scale that when it takes all you got to stay on task because all you are thinking is"this is sooo wrong, this sucks", it would be a
**** to have a good show. That\'s just the lighting guy bro! Think of the other 3 Phish members that HAD to be thinking the same thing and you\'ll see where I\'m coming from
Oh and any collective decision made by Phish had to be approved by Trey. LOL
Coventry shouldn\'t have ever happened, imo. Way to much hype to live up due to the nature of the situation. They probably should have played out thier "summer tour" and called it quits afterwards. My last Phish show was 6/20/04, the second night of SPAC. I am very glad to have ended it on such a good note. ( as opposed to a flubbed one) Still pissed I wasn\'t at those Cafe Nine shows.. now that is the real deal right there.
