Maybe not Portugal but the U.S./Mexico rivalry is the biggest one the U.S. has. SO OK fine Portugal u merely suck but **** Mexico!
The Japanese looked great against the Danish but not that great.

**** it, we\'ll just have to beat spain then. not worried. usa has a good draw in probably the weakest section of the round of 16.

and there\'s no need to be such a spiteful **** about it. i don\'t jeer the teams you cheer for just for **** and giggles. i look forward to portugal beating spain, we\'re clearly the superior country(maybe not in size or soccer ranking, but in culture and historical significance and food).

Historical Significance? Oh yeah it was the Portuguese Armada that is remembered in History. Oh and Portuguese is the second most spoken first language in the world due to it\'s lasting significance upon the world from their conquests in the past.
You\'re right though if it wasn\'t for you I would most likely be rooting for Portugal as in my own personal experience visiting both countries I found Portugal to be a lot more to my liking.

oh cuz the spanish inquisition was really a proud moment in the history of the world. plus portugal is responsible for pretty much every great explorer including columbus, ponce de leon, balboa, vasco de gama and ferdinand **** magellan. spain killed the mayans, great contribution right there.

As for your list well....
Spain funded Columbus,Balboa and Ponce De Leon were Spanish,Magellan became a Spanish National,and Vasco De Gama was a murderer.

they all learned to be sailors in portugal. they\'d just be another dead spanish or italian if it wasn\'t for that.

plus the spanish armada got their asses handed to them by the british.

Don\'t forget Henry Hudson, the english explorer pretty much responsible for Dutch Colonization in the US... Go Holland...

I was going to let it go but you had to edit and try some historical trash talk which you\'ve already shown you\'re not that g8 at.
For your information the Brits drove them from the Channel and chased them from their shores but the storms the Armada ran into on the way home did far more damage than the Brits did themselves.
The Brits didn\'t have as much damage as the Spanish because they stayed out of gun\'s range in the bigger of the 4 conflicts which make up the Defeat of the Spanish Armada.
Britain may have won the battle but Spain continued to protect and expand their Ocean Claims for generations afterward.

:lol: I do watch Soccer. I just happen to root for my country first and foremost and not some country my family fled just to be different and claim that I\'m honoring my heritage while throwing all that this country has given me back at it. If that\'s southern boy B.S. so be it.
