2. Illinois
3. Beer Jubilee

niiiiice wolfman.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

Yeah, it\'s easy for Wolf to say UC-Milwaukee after they win and he picks Alabama to beat them. By the way, Wolf and a few others are listed with 0 points on the leader board. What gives?

I should get a bonus point for being the only person in our pool to pick a perfect region in round 1.  I nailed Chicago, which includes UW-Milwaukee and UAB.

In all Yahoo pools, which must include a few hundred thousand entires, there is 1 person who picked a completely perfect first round.  That is sick.

Last night was the first classic leg of the tournament. Syracuse was whistled for an unfair technical for hanging on the rim that gave Vermont a two-score lead late in the second half, but I\'m happy to see the Catamounts win since everyone got gung-ho about the Orange in about three seconds after the Big East Tournament (after they\'d been mediocre all year).

And another of my Elite 8 teams, Kansas, is merely dust in the wind. I\'d know more about this game if CBS cut to it when they should have instead of waiting until the last minute and showing us Michigan State-Old Diminion. Year after year, CBS botches the coverage and sticks with their "main game" for way too long when other games are more interesting (such as a 14 knocking off a 3).

Either way, Connecticut fans should be giddy with their path to the Elite 8 date with North Carolina looking better and better. I hate Connecticut so I have to get giddy about Georgia Tech, which outlasted GW and proved that some top seeds can live up to their billing.

Today: Texas Tech beats Gonzaga.

You\'re right, but I can\'t support any team that lost to my sorry-ass St. John\'s this year. But, as always, I\'m rooting against the Calhouns.

St Johns...Cleveland Browns...Mets...
Pitchie, you root for the most pathetic assortment of teams of anyone I know.  Don\'t you wish you were a Boston fan?  Red Sox...champions.  Patriots...champions.  Celtics...hottest basketball team in the world right now and greatest team of all time.

Enjoy it for now, but if I were you I would sit very humbly and quietly, because I have never seen a pool where someone led box to wire.  Even that guy on Yahoo who went 32-0 in the first round, watch where he finishes...

You\'re right Seth. I do wish I rooted for the Red Sox (wow, one whole title in 86 years), the Celtics (who were my Lakers **** in the 80\'s), and the Patriots (whose dynasty was started by the worst call in the history of athletics).

How \'bout them Zags?

minus the celtics, mostly because I have no knowledge of basketball,  I could not agree more! Could be worse, you could be a hockey fan like myself and come to the reality that you will never see another NHL game played without replacement players.

Ironically, I picked Nevada over Gonzaga in the second round last year and was right. I\'d love to see them knock off Illinois today, but I can\'t see it. I\'ll believe Gonzaga is more than just a mid-major team when they beat a Duke or an NC or a Kentucky in the Tournament. They reached the Elite 8 and lost to UConn in 99, then knocked out my second-seeded Johnnies in the second round in 2000. Since then, nothing but overhype and early exits.
