Flyers winning the cup, don\'t see it happening. Peter Forseberg is, without a doubt, the best player in the world, but it takes more than the best two-way player in the game to win a cup.
The Bruins did a
**** poor job with signing free agents, both within the system and from other clubs. Sure they got Thornton and Samsonov back, and finally got Raycroft to sign, but they went into the free-for-all with the most money to spend and in my opinion got nothing out of it except Thornton. They could have very well landed Modano among others to compliment him, though I am not taking anything away from Glen Murray (he\'s been terrific in black and gold). Brian Leetch is not a what I consider a high profile signing. I think he\'ll be good and add alot of leadership and experience, but he\'s over the hill, and he\'s from Chesire. Bruins will finish the season with the 3rd best point total in the east and fall to the Canadiens (again) in the playoffs. But I hope I am wrong and it turns out to be their year. Bergeron, Thornton, Samsonov will be the best power play unit in hockey (quote me on that), though they may stick Patrice on the point as he did in Providence last season.
Rangers? take one from the sox fans, wait till next year.
Penguins? best turnaround in the NHL, but need a proven goaltender (im not sure who they have but I think Fleury or whoever their youngin is is the starter). I am excited to have a chance to watch Crosby skate with Lemieux, both on TV and on October 22nd when I will be in attendance.
Islanders? wait..who?
any other teams need criticism?
