well if the sox didn\'t get rid of half of so-called idiots and go out and spend $$$ ala the Yanks and Mets you would need to live in the past. take a page out of the Braves franchise and bring up some homegrown players.

Yanks sweep White Sox!
1/2 game back from the BoSox in the division
3 games back from the White in the wildcard.

They needed this big time!  They were virtually out of the wild card race until absolutely hammering the world champs, and thanks to the ever scrappy Oakland A\'s, the division gap is closed as well!

Sunday\'s NYY starting outfield: Melky Cabrera, Bubba Crosby, Aaron Guiel.  A far cry from Matsui, Damon, Sheffield, but both Cabrera and Guiel made great throws for rally killing outs.

I hold my breath as we roll the dice with Sidney "Punch Out" Ponson.

Two slams and 11 runs in one inning! I don\'t care if the Cubs suck. That\'s impressive. Unlike El Dooky\'s performance, that\'s for sure.





Hope you American League fans enjoy fighting for your playoff spots through the dog days of summer while the Mets continue to feast on the National League Least.

I haven\'t been to a baseball game since Cub Scouts in the 1980s, when Roger Clemens was a young gun and Wade Boggs/Jim Rice were belting homers over the Green Monster.

my family will be at the sox v angels games (fri, sat) and one of my bros is hitting up the whole series.  

big series for the mets this weekend. hopefully the braves can take at least 2 of 3 but if they sweep look out Mets cause these will def. be the dog days of summer.

It was fun watching Red Sox/A\'s fans sparring in the crowd.  Threats of "I\'ll take this out back after the game" reminded me of the .info MLB thread.

leauge leader in RBI\'s

with his over all contributions (speed, great centerfield, clutch hitting etc) I think he is current NL MVP

goin to shea for first two games vs phillies next week
