The pitching matchups for the first three games of the Cubs/Dodgers series:

Dempster vs. Lowe
Zambrano vs. Billingsley
Harden vs. Kuroda

The Cubs aren\'t a lock by any means, but I don\'t know how anyone could pick the Dodgers given that information alone.

Agree but that is the beauty of baseball.

How did the Rockies make it to the World Series last year?

All a team needs is to be in that groove and it doesn\'t matter if you are farting the ball out of your ass across the plate.

And furthermore, we\'re, uhhhhhhh, the Cubs, right? I\'m nervous as **** to be honest, and just got a phone call from my brother--- I got a ticket for Thursday night! Hell yeah, haven\'t been to a Cub playoff game since the NLDS \'03 against Atlanta, where Prior (pffft) shut them down and all of Wrigley was mock chopping the Braves with \'ol Cubby blue hats. Best live sports moment I\'ve ever had as a spectator in attendance.

It\'s all about Game 1. Seriously, if we lose on Wednesday I\'ll put my life on a series loss.

The 2007 and 2008 Mets: Ya Gotta Bereave!

They should use Jong Il\'s voice from Team America to relay that quote.. It\'d be like, ironic, man.

I predict a World Series of LA vs. Chicago.

Haha.

Go Red Sox...it\'s not gonna be easy.  I can\'t believe the 2 most important arms in Boston (Beckett and Brady) both went down within 3 weeks of each other.  Oof.  Just goes to show how lucky we\'ve been here with everything.

Fun game to watch last night.

Then Thome hits one out.

**** the Twins.

Tonight starts the 2008 playoffs with 3 games.

Milwaukee at Philadelphia   3:00 PM   Gallardo vs Hamels
LA Dodgers at Chicago Cubs   6:30 PM   Lowe vs Dempster
Boston at LA Angels         10:00 PM   Lester vs Lackey

Taking the home team for all 3 to start.

I don\'t see Boston making it out of the first round with anything more than a win.

That was a great game last night. Thome absolutely destroyed that pitch, deepest homer to center I\'ve seen at the Cell. Great play at the plate to preserve the shutout. Exciting finish.

These playoffs will be interesting.

There is certainly a little butt nugget already in my drawers.

Do it Dempster. Go Cubs.

Beckett has not been what he was the last few seasons.  I think our one win (maybe two with a 3 pitcher roataion) this series come via our new ace Lester.

Beckett had always been an ace when it comes to the playoffs. I still believe this until otherwise.

Lester proved to be a nasty pitcher and he can make something happen.
