You know what\'s inspirational to me? The resurgent, and suddenly within a whisker of first place, New York Metropolitans. The decision to fire Willie was obviously the right one, Reyes and the bullpen are on absolute fire, and even Carlos "Garbage" Delgado is doing alright for himself.
Let\'s go Mets!

Happy to see your guys looking so energized. Shame the break had to come now.

I, too, am inspired by the youthful exuberance and steadfast grit of the 2008 New York Amazing Metropolitans.
Agree that Josh Hamilton\'s story is inspiring.... inspiring to do hard drugs! "Hey kids, if you do lots of crack and heroin and live to tell about it, you can end up like me!"
BTW Yogi Berra is in the booth right now at the All-Star game and NOT coherent. He couldn\'t even remember Mariano Rivera\'s name, but rather described him as "the kid with the muscles".

Tough to watch. Looks like the Aflac commercial in the barber shop was his last great moment. Shame on Fox for embarassing him like this.
It\'s inspirational for the white bread society. Seriously. He\'d be locked up otherwise, either in jail or shackled on the streets.
go NL! I hope we can hang on to this lead (but i have a feeling th e al will hit hr before the night is over)...
I think the tide is finally turning now that the roid era is winding down and all the juice heads are becoming washed up has beens and the new generation is taking over. good to see.
yup there it is
well thats the reason wagner didnt even deserve to be an allstar in the first Place right there. sheesh
..exactly. Tell me you werent thinking the same thing as I when Wagner came in with a 2 run lead needing one out... aye yae yae
tied for first headin into this three game series with the phags ...I mean phils.
we have beat on them all year so hopefully we can continue that trend over the next three days.
Let\'s hope Wagner\'s arm doesn\'t snap off at the shoulder. Let\'s hope Johan makes it through the fifth.
Let\'s Go Mets!
Pissed that the AL blew it and won the All-Star game. Now when the Red Sox sweep the World Series they\'ll clinch on the road AGAIN. Was pulling for the NL so the Sox could finally clinch at home.
first places
****. haters eat a d!
we need a legit corner outfielder though. i.e. nady or holliday. trade fmart, neise, and a few mid level pitching prospects should get it done.
So what\'s the verdict, did Joba throw at Youkilis intentionally?
On one hand, Joba had great control all night (so good that the inside corner actually expanded all the way to Mike Lowell\'s belt buckle in the ninth inning), and he has thrown at Youkilis twice before.
On the other hand, it was a 1-0 game, and Youkilis was the leadoff man in the seventh inning with All-Star caliber player Mike Lowell (Joe Crede, my ass) and All-Star MVP J.D. Drew batting behind him. Thus, putting him on base intentionally would be pretty stupid.
But, on yet another hand, the count was 2-0, and Joba could have figured that he was better off walking him then giving him a pitch to hit (of course, the Yanks lucked out big when the ball over Youk\'s head happened to hit the bat for strike one).
And of course, maybe the pitch just slipped and this is a huge coincidence. You never know.
Or.... maybe Joba\'s just smarter than the rest of us, and he realizes that the Sox/Yanks feud needs a jumpstart. Sadly, it\'s the American League, and Joba can\'t just catch a fastball between the numbers in his next at-bat against Boston to settle the score.
Either way, looking forward to two more tight games this weekend, with the Sox hopefully picking up a couple wins to keep ahead of the Yanks and in step with the Rays (who are at Kansas City and likely taking at three out of four).

My answer is who gives a
****. In the past four years RS pitchers have hit Jeter and A-Rod 24 times. In that same time period, Manny was hit 5 times and Ortiz was hit 0 times. The Torre days of no retaliation are in the past. Maybe Girardi is trying to send the message that we\'re not going to put up with that
**** from them anymore.
I only give a
**** about Sox fans that are bitching about something that they\'ve been doing to us for years. Let it go, it\'s part of the game.
