The Padres set a MLB record with their 4th consecutive win by a score of 2-1.
Without half of their Pitching staff they are slowly climbing out of the cellar.
Finding ways to win builds confidence, this club is really not as bad as it\'s record.

Man petco park is rough!

DWright RIPPED that ball in game two with the bases loaded. Almost any other park thats a grand slam or a 3 run triple off the wall.

We really need church and alou back. Kinda worried about churchy right now though. Hope he can make a full recovery.

Also gotta say- even tho he is probably the all time met killer- props to chipper hitting .420 more than a third of the way into the  season at age 30- whatever he is. Guy is just a great hitter.

A shitty team w/o it\'s best pitchers does not sweep the Mets with Johan Santana and Pedro and a closer like Billy Wagner all in good health. So yeah I will keep telling myself that thanx.

First time since 1980 that the Pads swept a 4 game series at home from the Mets. That\'s 5 wins in a row and moving on up.

Oh and the Angels own the best record in Baseball along with the Cubs. Now that would be awesome to see in October.

i am VERY excited about jd drew\'s production this season; which is exactly what theo expected when signing him.  him and daisuke are having superb seasons thus far.  everyone talked **** last year about the red sox signing these 2 players being a mistake, but it takes players to adjust to new teams and or continents/leagues.  wouldnt be the least bit surprised if daisuke starts the all star game and wins the cy young this year.  drew is starting to produce like the reason he was brought here  for.  theo epstein=genius.  on that note go sox

JD Drew is making more money this year than any other player on the team except for Manny.  That is a shame.  He is a talented bum.  The cocky ass underachiever.  I say trade him to Japan.

My friends and I play a game whenever JD comes up withe runners in scoring position. The name of the game is called "Guess how drew will mess up this time" in which we predict how he will get out, and how many other people he will take out with himself...errr english sucks.

Anyway, I toggle between "ground-ball double play" and "stike out looking"

Peavy looked impressive yesterday. Winners of 7 of the last 8 going into Interleague play. Catch the tough part of the rotation with Lee and Sabathia this weekend but hopefully their bats will stay hot on this road trip.

We got tickets for Tuesday night and Thursday afternoon at Yankee stadium. Unfortunately, it looks like Maddux will be pitching Sunday and Peavy will be going Wednesday (DOH!). I was really hoping to see Maddux pitch since he is retiring soon but maybe I\'ll make it back down to NYC in August for the Mets series.

Go Padres!

Friday, June 27th the Yankees and Mets play a double header. The first game is a makeup game at Yankee stadium. The second game is at Shea to open the weekend series. Is this the first time two teams have played a double header with one game in each team\'s stadium?
