[2008-04-03] when was the last time your forth best  pitcher went 6 scoreless with 8 strike outs?

I figured I\'d have to at least wait until the All Star break to rebuttal this one...

Randy Wolf was 7 outs away from a no hitter last night. The single that broke it was only a foot or so off his glove up the middle. He also had 9 strikeouts. Not too bad for a free agent signing and #4 in the rotation.

Go Padres

yes but is your number FIVE guy 2-0 with a 1.5 era? ;)

Haha!

No, he\'s 0-0, 13IP, 6k, 0.00 ERA. If he had some run support he\'d be doing fine.

First night of four Mets @ Padres games is June 5th. We might be getting extra sloppy at the Electric Company that night.

Yeah, they have one by their second entrance door. I remember watching some March Madness games on it during their St. Patty\'s Day show last year. I don\'t think it\'s very big but it\'ll do. Brittany will be coming to this show so she could probably drive us.

2 fuckin BOMBS by Manny, can\'t wait till the summer, when I switch to 1st shift so I can actually watch games.  (other than the having to be at work @ 7am oof)  Cause I only get Yankee radio at work and I can\'t stand the Yankee radio guy, every fuckin fly ball "It\'s high it\'s far it\'s .......... caught."  Even most of the NY fans I work with can\'t stand him.

Would much rather Manny be this hot later in the season, there\'s almost no way he can maintain this, but I\'ll certainly take it.

Manny HR count 495 :)

F\'n Rockies. Peavy pitched a gem (8IP, 11K, 4H, 3BB, 0ER) but neither team could score. I passed out around the 17th inning. Can\'t believe it made it to 22 innings. Longest game since 1993. Having to deal with the drive to NYC post Northampton tonight, I\'m regretting staying up past the 10th.

22 innings and it wasn\'t even that much longer than the yankees/red sox 8.5 inning game wednesday night. :sigh:

Yeah, scoring only 3 runs on 25 hits will do that. 6:16 game length is pretty nuts but considering they played that many innings it really wasn\'t that long (~17 minutes per inning which includes all the commercial breaks between each half inning).

Ugh, the Padres are 3rd to last in runs scored (72) and second to last in team batting average (.240). Their bullpen has the third worst era (5.54) and a 1-8 record, which is dead last.

It\'s going to be a long season if they don\'t pick it up sometime soon. Starting next week they play a stretch of 19 games in 20 days, 16 of which are on the road. I know it\'s still early but this 20 day stretch will make or break their season.

In the 8th last night I looked over at my buddy Brian and said "we need an insurance run because Hoffman is going to give up a run."
sure enough! FUCKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!

At least the Angels took 2 of 3 in boston!

I mean, the Mets have mostly thread water so far this year, but anytime you beat Hudson and Smoltz to get two of three, you take it.

Tough couple of games for the Red Sox. Buchholz pitched a great game last night, and then one two-run homer blew it. Today Beckett threw a career-high 13 strikeouts, yet the game was still lost 3-0. Rough.
