the only thing keeping me from being a wicked
**** for a while is knowing paul ryan has a mike an mike bobble head for me (hopefully autographed (just kidding)) my heart will go on, thanks to greeny and golic.
Lost in the shuffle due to the dotinfo East Coast bias (we miss ya, Leith) is that the Dodgers just traded Andy LaRoche and Bryan Morris to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Manny F\'n Ramirez. Well done.
Also, just a note that you can tell a lot about a Red Sox fan\'s bandwagon level by how shocked they were when Manny was finally traded. No disrespect to any real, female Red Sox fans reading this, but I\'m noticing a lot of female "fans" reacting this morning like the Red Sox just traded away "their best player" for "no reason". And sadly, neither part of that statement has been true this season.
Well, this has been an exhausting couple of weeks as a Red Sox fan. I\'m really sad to see Manny go, but I don\'t think he left management much choice. His behavior was unfair to the other players and to the Sox management, but even more so to his fans. The reverence for Manny in Boston is a remarkable thing, and we have been able to forgive an amazing amount of bs from him. But in my opinion this last push has put him on Unforgivable Ground. He has been acting like a whiny pathetic little spoiled brat. What did he think he was getting into when he signed his contract? And did he think that there would never be repercussions for his actions? I\'m tired, and I\'m sick of him at this point. I\'ll always miss his bat, but right now I\'m feeling "good riddance."
I do know that in a couple of weeks this feeling will change, when I\'m not so irritated and the void where the Ortiz-Ramirez one-two punch used to be seems screamingly large.
I must say my heart was heavy when I was at Fenway on Wednesday, knowing I might not ever see Manny again in a Sox uniform. The crowd chanting for Manny sounded tremulous and uncertain, and at the end of the game, we all left the ballpark quietly
well put jocelyn. i was at the game on monday, i\'m glad i got to witness a manny homerun at fenway...i think the last one too. seeya in LA manny.
I was at Fenway on July 31, 2005, which was the trade deadline of that season. Manny wasn\'t in the lineup because they were trying to deal him (in what was pretty much the same situation as this year). With the scored tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Edgar Renteria hit a two-out double. With Ortiz coming up for the inevitable intentional walk, Manny Ramirez stepped into the on deck circle to pinch hit for Adam Stern and was greeted by the loudest ovation I have ever heard in my life. He came through with the game winning single, and tipped his cap as he stood on first base to thank the Boston fans for still believing in him. It\'s because of this day that Jason Bay could single-handedly win the World Series for Boston this year, and it still wouldn\'t keep me from missing Manny Ramirez at least a little bit.
Interestingly enough, Jonathan Papelbon started the aforementioned game in his major league debut.

I was thinking about this game every single time Manny was up to bat on Wednesday.

Well I\'m a female "fan", and I admit, I was shocked to hear that they actually traded him. I honestly didn\'t think they would do it, he\'s done this so many times before-he wants to be traded, no, he loves Boston, wants to retire there-that I just assumed it was more Manny being Manny. I\'m upset that they traded him because he is one of my favorite players and I\'ve always looked the other way with him and never let his comments or actions bother me. At the same time, after having a day to really think about it, maybe the Red Sox are better off without him, he clearly didn\'t want to be here anymore and it seems like he was willing to do and say anything to get traded. I still don\'t really know how I feel about it yet, I guess that\'s just because I\'m a girl and don\'t really get it. (Just a joke!

)
I\'d give anything to see him get benched for not running out groundball in L.A. guess we\'ll have to wait and see...
I can\'t believe that Nomar, Manny, and D-Lowe are managed by Joe Torre.
back to back ? bay is looking good thus far
Yet again the Mets play the Padres and don\'t have to face Peavy. It doesn\'t matter though. The Padres were still able to sweep them in a 4 game series in June without Peavy.
Go Padres :hair:
we have lost like 5 outa 6 games, wagner is out, our starting 2b man is out, john maine is out, and both our starting corner outfielders are out I so dont wanna hear this peavy whining!
Aaron Heilman needs to be either traded, waived, sent down, or shot.
big win, but Heilman just takes winds out of sails before he even throws a pitch. tomorrow, going down to see Pedro, and honestly dont think he\'s goin more than 6 innings so hope we have at least a 5 run lead by then because relief is not doin it right now
