mets lost. jimmy rollins sprained his ankle. Ill take it.
all the pieces are in place for us. but we still have to execute.
I think TRON is gonna have a great year....i.e. .287 43 hrs 131 rbi ton of doubles 30 sb gold glove nlcs mvp
also i think NOT being in first place for a while will actually be good for this team. the reason we collapsed last year is we got too comfortable in that role and forgot what second and third feels like and why every loss and win matters.
anyway...go BIG pELF!!

loved seeing Buckner throw out the first pitch for Boston. With all the
**** he has taken over the years this ovation was well deserved.
Detroit 0-7
to early to say anything about how the rest of the season is gonna go but what a shitty way to start for the Tigers, esp when expectations were so high. From what I saw of the game they played down right awful baseball.
I watched the Mets/Phillies game off and on last night. I thought the play at the plate (Reyes in the 12th) was closer than the umpire made it seem, which it was, but I think he got the call right. Coming back to win the series 2-1 has to give the Mets a lot of confidence going forward.
Red Sox/Yankees series starts tonight. Where\'s the beef?
Huge win for the Mets last night, though Heilman\'s gonna lose the eighth-inning job if he doesn\'t shape up.
that was one of the closest and strangest plays at the plate i have ever seen.
hard to judge because the tag was on his back as he was moving forward and his hand was going down on the plate. in one camera angle u can see the tag but not the plate and vice versa in the other angle.
but even with all the weirdness of this play I think the ump got the call right because tie goes to the runner and that was too close to call one way or the other even on the replay.
nice hold by the mets pen after heilman blew it. he will bounce back though.
good game though.
I cant wait to see johan mow down the phillys
^ At least Reyes touched the plate. Matt Holiday face planted in the dirt and was called safe with a playoff spot on the line. Def quite bitter about it but it never should have come down to an extra game.
much thanks to derick for the tickets. Boston beer was packed, but the service was really quick once we got the table. Double visions are awesome although I have no idea what is in them. We saw the hawk, met some crazy drunken people in the bleachers, got rained on, saw the sox pull ahead only to fall behind and then pull ahead again, then a rain delay in the 8th even though they could have called the game after the 7th and rewarded us the win, and got rained on hard for 2 hours. During this time matts call we moved up to first plate and then moved again to right behind home plate where we set up camp. Everyone came in and we stayed by the seats, so we saw the last 2 innings from the front row directly behind home plate. There is a little blonde hair girl, and then going left Jocelyn was definitely on tv, I might have been and matt was next to me but off screen, at least for the sd broadcast.
Best (and longest at 5 hour) sox/yankees game I\'ve ever seen, and it is now official that I have seen more games with jocelyn than anyone else.
They are on my myspace, but here are some of the 450 or so pics I took:

From left to right, Matt Vallo, me, Jocelyn. Jocelyns dad is in the second row between Matt and me.

Great pics! Must have been great to sit behind home plate for the last two innings.
good game all around tonight
i really believe in this team
they have the superstars who can flat out carry a team on any given night, the veterans, the young bloods, speed, power, can play small and big ball, all around solid position players in every spot and a tremendous bench. great defense. good fundamentals. lots of very good arms in the bullpen for every situation and an above average starting rotation headed by a true ace. big pelf looks like this is his year. team chemistry is starting to gel. lets go mets!
did you hear how some guy fell 2 stories to his death at shea? his 2 daughters were there with him, and his wife was home pregnant with their third.

how the hell does something like that happen?

he fell 4 stories, and it happens when you act like a tool and try to slide down an escalator rail. sucks for his family, but probably good for at least a darwin award nomination.
[2008-04-03] when was the last time your forth best pitcher went 6 scoreless with 8 strike outs?
I figured I\'d have to at least wait until the All Star break to rebuttal this one...
Randy Wolf was 7 outs away from a no hitter last night. The single that broke it was only a foot or so off his glove up the middle. He also had 9 strikeouts. Not too bad for a free agent signing and #4 in the rotation.
Go Padres
