Bulls should be disappointing again. Derrick Rose will be fun to watch.. Joakim Noah? Not so much. Our big man discrepancy will make for a **** season, no doubt. But I\'m patient, a few years building around Rose as the orchestrator should work out. I think he\'s a **** stud. Best athlete to come into the NBA in awhile.
I\'m not talking about you, Gordo, because I know you are a Chicago guy, but I love all of the east coast Bulls fans who jumped on the bandwagon in the Michael Jordan era and are now stuck cheering for a team of underachievers.
Of course, being stuck as a Knicks fan ain\'t any better.

I actually witnessed the first Bulls championship in LA. I was born here, moved to NM, then to CA, and was 7 years old in Irvine for that first title against the Lakers. I got into a fist fight with some kid on my block over it. Told him Magic drinks Jordan\'s
**** for breakfast. I ended up going 2-0 that day.
But yes I was ALWAYS a Chicago team player. We\'d drive to San Diego every time the Cubs were in town. And I spent summers/holidays with my dad in Chicago, so Cubs/Bears/Bulls/Hawks was instilled in me through caricature t\'s and everyone losing except for the Bulls. That was one hell of an era. Every June=Little league ballgame>watch Jordan make everyone look elementary.
Just looking for an explanation of why some of you CT residents are Lakers fans. I haven\'t read any NBA threads in the past, so I apologize if I am beating a dead horse. I just don\'t get it. That\'s all.

Since I don\'t want you to wait up all night for a response:
I once asked Devo how he became a Lakers fan. Devo grew up watching sports with an uncle who rooted for the Yankees, Lakers and Giants and he has been a fan of the same teams ever since. Not sure about Chris Pitch\'s story. Any other Lakers fans in CT?
chris pitche\'s story = magic johnson (plus a few rings im sure)
Anthony Keidis and Flea are huge Laker fans and Dave is ontop of his Keidis character
Am hoping that Shaq starting a season as a Sun will allow him to meld into the Amare/Nash/Raja/etc mix this year. It could happen. they do have the right ingredients.
My $0.02
Well, let\'s see. It was 1984 and as a budding six-year old sports fan, I recognized that there were two prominent athletes who were leading the way in the NBA.
One was a smooth, flashy point guard named Magic Johnson who played amidst the excitement and glamor of \'Showtime\' in Los Angeles. The other was a pasty, brain-dead, ball-hog hick who played on a court with a leprechaun in the middle. Boy, was that a tough decision.
Also of note is that, same as last season, the Celtics defeated the Lakers in the 1984 Finals. Of course, the Lakers bounced back to beat the Celtics in the next year\'s finals, as well as 1987. Hmmm. Interesting.
Brain dead? Larry Bird=Basketball genius.
He also managed to steer clear of that pesky HIV virus.
Admit it. You dug the purple uniforms.
Forget the Lakers story, ask Pitchie how he became a Cleveland Browns fan.
no one can beat the celts right now. dont see how this pattern can\'t continue obviously without haphazard injuries/mistakes. green 18 baby
