Auburn vs. Vanderbilt this afternoon. I\'d take Vandy and the 4 points. Auburn beat Mississippi State earlier this year 3-2. No offense versus a very disciplined team capable of sustaining drives.

UConn plus 7 looks good versus North Carolina. UConn might win games close but they hang in every game and make it close. With a powerful running game comes a passing game that opens itself up. ND transfer leads them to a victory.

Finally, Wisconsin (+1.5) takes Ohio State down tonight. Ohio State hopefully gets physically worn down ad beat up. I plain old hate OSU.
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.

Basically why I do not gamble.

Not a good year to be a Michigan fan.

Never knew there was a good year to be a Michigan fan. ;) I\'ve always had some strange, unfounded disdain for the Wolverines.

This is a clip from LSU vs. South Carolina.  .

http://

Did anyone actually see this game?  If so can you please explain the context in which this took place.  As a former college football player this is the most absurd thing I\'ve seen on the field.  For those unfamiliar these are major teams playing in the premiere conference in the country.  This is not some rinky dink D-III stuff.

Dude that\'s CRAZY. I heard about it but that\'s the first time I\'ve seen the clip. What happened after that?

That\'s what I\'m trying to find out.  Initially I thought this was some sort editing trick like Spacey\'s BK King commercials, but after some digging it appears legit.

Definitely legit, caught the end of the debate about it on Around the Horn today. So weird. Mid-life crisis? Maybe he lossed some absurd bet and was threatened to be sniped on the spot if he didn\'t do it? Who the **** knows, but you have to assume his career will take a serious blow from this. For what it\'s worth, I love when **** like this happens. Controversy and strange things like this keep life exciting.

BCS boss likes Obama\'s passion for playoff, but ...
President-elect Barack Obama would like a college football playoff. The BCS\' response? We\'ll listen, but ...

BCS coordinator John Swofford responded to a stepped-up playoff push by Obama that was broadcast on CBS\' "60 Minutes" Sunday.

"For now, our constituencies -- and I know he understands constituencies -- have settled on the current BCS system, which the majority believe is the best system yet to determine a national champion while also maintaining the college football regular season as the best and most meaningful in sports. We certainly respect the opinions of president-elect Obama and welcome dialogue on what\'s best for college football," Swofford said.

Obama said he will use his influence to create such a system.

"If you\'ve got a bunch of teams who play throughout the season, and many of them have one loss or two losses, there\'s no clear decisive winner. We should be creating a playoff system," Obama said.

According to Obama\'s proposed system, eight teams would play over three rounds to settle the national champion.

"It would add three extra weeks to the season," he said. "You could trim back on the regular season. I don\'t know any serious fan of college football who has disagreed with me on this. So, I\'m going to throw my weight around a little bit. I think it\'s the right thing to do."

^^^^ Bad idea.

But then again, I don\'t really like the BCS system.

Go back to the inter-conference bowls and let the pundits argue about it for a few weeks.

I really don\'t want to watch college football after New Years.

Is anyone else surprised that there are not marque games no longer played on New Years day?

Specifically, of the 5 games slated, only 3 are between ranked teams.

I would think that Boise State vs. TCU or OSU (Oklahoma) vs. Oregon would be better games....just because both teams are ranked.

Very cool piece on college recruiting, but what I really liked was one website using links to another (SI using Google Maps) as a tool to illustrate a point.  Never seen anything quite like this before.  VERY interactive. Quite the time waster.
