those are some realy top shelf teams right there. just cuz they\'re in the West doesn\'t make them automatically better than any team in the East, I know you see the world through rose colored glasses, but get real. The only good team on there is Portland.
actually, I checked the standings, so I\'ll amend that and say Golden State too, since they\'re off to a 5-2 start. But neither of those teams are real powerhouses. They\'ve also only played 2 road games so far, and the Celtics are undefeated at home as well.
Uh yeah it does.
Considering for the past 5-6 years only half the teams in the East that make the playoffs even have 50 wins while in the West if you don\'t at least have 50 wins you\'re out.
Face it it has been this way for quite awhile actually since Jordan went bye bye. Since his last championship there has been 3 that\'s THREE Champions from the East, Detroit(banged up Lakers lost to them) Heat and Celtics(banged up Lakers lost to them).
So yeah being in the West automatically makes them better.
that may have been true in the past, but things change. When Utah\'s best player goes to Chicago, that makes Chicago a better team and Utah a shittier team. When Phoenix\'s best player goes to New York that makes New York a better team and Phoenix a shittier team. You should at least let the season pan out and compare the interleague games before you shoot off at the mouth(i know its hard for you), but just because in seasons past the West had more over .500 teams doesn\'t make the worst teams in the West as good as the best teams in the East, thats just stupid talk.

Uh no it doesn\'t make a team better and one shittier when a player like Boozer is involved. He is not all that and will do for Chicago what he did for Utah. Nothing. That is if he can stay on the court.
It\'s like you think the East and West haven\'t traded players until this year. It\'s the teams as a whole and as for the worst west being as good as the east\'s best not at all but my point stands that the level of competition is definitely higher in the West and if you can\'t see that watching the NBA today you never will.
West has finesse players and east have get down and dirty, play with your heart players. Always been that way imo. I would take the east any day.
here\'s something to consider:
http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/powerrankingsthese are the power rankings that use some crazy formula to rank each team based on a combination of record, strength of schedule and margin of victory.
this has miami as #1, la at #2 and boston at #6, the top 8 has 4 teams from the east and 4 from the west.
LA sucks. California sucks. Leith sucks.

Yeah whatever. The Lakers beat those pathetic celtics playing down and dirty.

Uh Duh it\'s the top 8 which as I said is not what I\'m talking about. Of course the TOP teams would be split as I said the worst west is not the best in the east rather the ENTIRE conference is weaker than the West and you can\'t find any stats to prove it\'s not because the records speak for themselves proving my point. The Eastern Conference has been inferior for at least the past decade and is not getting any better while the West has more teams consistently getting better every year and pushing the bar to get into the playoffs thus the need for more wins to get into the playoffs while the east has to allow some sub.500 teams in to make up the slots.
I was just pointing it out as an interesting take on who\'s ranked the highest right now.
whys everything have to be an argument with you?
Mars Blackman RULES....Everyone else gets the BOZAK. that is all.

It doesn\'t but you\'re the one coming with stats to try and prove you\'re right and I\'m wrong. I was just pointing out in general the east has weaker teams and thus the competition is weaker for the Top teams in the Conference which most likely accounts for the low amount of NBA Champs coming out of the East in the past decade and counting.
I wasn\'t trying to prove anything, just read the article and shared it here.
and the only NBA Champs to come out of the West since jordan left the Bulls are the Spurs and the Lakers, so you have two consistently good teams in the past ten years in the West.

2 that have to fight through a tougher conference and face more winning teams in the playoffs. It just goes to show how great a franchise The Lakers are and the Spurs were.
If there were only the 2 that were consistently good I\'m positive the east would have had more representation in the Championship dept. however the Champs of the east have failed 70% of the time in the past decade against the Western Champs. I can only come to the conclusion it is due to the level of competition they have to go through.
6 teams in the east only had 1 50+ win seasons to even make this list while the West had 2.
Can you really still stand by your opinion that the West has had only 2 consistently good teams in the Spurs and The Lakers?
As you can see the east does have inferior competition for their champion to fight through.
2000-01-2009-10 50+ win seasons
East:
Atlanta 1
Boston 1
Cleveland 4
Detroit 7
Indiana 1
Miami 3
Milwaukee 1
New Jersey 1
Orlando 3
Philadelphia 1
West:
Dallas 10
Denver 3
Houston 4
Lakers 7
Memphis 1
Minnesota 3
New Orleans 1
Seattle/Oklahoma 2
Phoenix 5
Portland 4
Sacramento 5
San Antonio 10
Utah 4
Guess Utah really misses the best player they had. Only beat the Heat and Magic in consecutive games.
Oh and The Lakers have improved to 8-0 which is pretty cool.
Dallas
**** themselves in the playoffs nearly every year.
