paul, your an alright guy yourself, please explain to me how my logic makes no sense to you..im dyin to know what you dont get about what i said...and for future reference, when a debate is about to begin, the worst thing to do is drop it..respond,ill stick around awaiting your point,or lackthereof...
my point is that this dude gets on,passes quick judgement on me,then dosent have enough of a sack to respond when i ask him what he means..thats ball less.something i would totally expect from someone with a huge pb brain tatooed on his arm!!
Why are people surprised when websites get shut down for breaking the law? There is a reason E-Tree works so hard at keeping its nose clean.
If you want to steal a commercial product then walk into a store and shove it inside your jacket or down your pants. Don\'t hide behind a computer.
your also the dude who goes to the store to buy lars ulrich spoken word cds...get a clue.if websites are gonna host something i like or want,im gonna download.simply put, nuff said.

bittorrent was intended to distribute public domain software. These web sites arent breaking the law. its users are. The pirated software is on the users hard drives. They are not on the web sites.

hey paul,im not sure if you realize what season it is,but all of my spare money is going towards my little girls xmas gifts.shes been good and santas hookin her up..so **** the artists, and i wont say **** you because i like ya(even though i just did)!
ok freddie, according to this statment, 100% of your spare funds are going twoards your daughters presents (congradulations if true, very noble). Now, if that is the money that you normally spend on music, then you have two options:
1. steal the music and \'
**** the artists\'
2. wait until after the holidays and then buy more music.
My issue is that in this situation, I would simply wait untill I had the money again, and then buy the album instead of \'
**** the artists\'. (Or go get a second job and earn some extra cash so that I could afford it now). There are thousands of cd\'s I want and don\'t own yet, but in time I will by purchasing them. Spend your money on your daughter.

paul, your not ser are you?think about it,its stupid to not take advantage of it if you can.downloading 11 bob marley albums on one torrent isnt in any way gonna hurt bab marley..to me,it was convenient, and when i got highspeed internet, the first thing i said was gonna do was take advantage of it.paul,so if you so dead set against using these means, would you agree that using pirate computer software is just as bad?do you know anything about this issue??

So Paul, will you be buying the Vegas Video / DVD Architect bundle with your Christmas money? I\'ll have to come over and try it out when you get it. I heard its SER.

This is what you call a debate? I did not say you could not download it, just don\'t complain when the law steps in to stop it.
Suprnova hosted torrents that distributed illegal copies of commercial releases. They could have regulated the torrents but they chose not to. That is why they got shut down.
p.s. Lars sucks

im glad we agree on that at lesat.my point is that if your not worried about how it looks,or necessarily sounds, places like suprnova were ideal..what do yo uthink about places like kazaa or limewire?isnt that pretty much the same thing except instead of whole abbums,it was individual tracks?

I think that this is closer to the equivalent of taping songs off the radio. But how many people only download part of an album as opposed to the whole thing? And if you really just want a track or two you can find them for legal download for 99 cents or less. (Hopefully the record companies will start to make their out-of-print back catalogues available as well.)
BitTorrent is a wonderful thing. It is a very easy and effective way to distribute files to the masses.

A lot of people only want certain songs that are on MTV or radio and they download them because they dont want to pay. Most people who download the whole thing do so because they either want the album before its in stores or they want to see if they like it first.
Paying 99 cents for a song is rediculous. thats even more expensive per song than buying the album. Its compressed audio, sounds like crap, and you have to burn it yourself if you want it on cd.
From what I understand, it\'s the record labels and not the artists that are getting
**** by "filesharing" or "whathaveyou". I have always thought that bands make the lion\'s share of their money from touring and merch.
If that is true, than I say
**** the
**** record lables.....
Oh and
**** Lars
**** Ulrich right in his stupid greedy
**** ear.

Every song has a 30 second preview. The preview is usually pulled from the heart of the song and not just the first 30 seconds so you get a true idea of the song and not just an overture. As for getting the whole album before it hits stores record companies have started to watermark the promotional and review versions of major releases to cut down on this. Sometimes they have even customized the watermark to try to track who is leaking albums (every 15 seconds or so the reviewer/publisher name is said over the music).
I know that the iTunes music store uses a compression based on Flac. The songs that I have purchased from them have sounded great on my computer, home stereo and the sound system of the theater that I work at.
