honestly, i thought that Andy and Lets Move to Cleveland were the best. they totally **** the bed for Mr. Green Genes. **** i\'ve heard the Shrine play it better. Even Echidna\'s was a little sloppy. but yea, overall it was real sick

Maybe I\'m alone on this, but I\'m not too impressed with RAQ.  This is the first time I\'ve heard to them since the co-bill at the Webster in 2004, and I definitely thought more of them then than I do now.  I don\'t want to say that this is their intent, but they sound to me a like a band trying to sound like The Breakfast and coming up a bit short.  Most of the Zappa covers sounded like a spontaneous, goofy cover should sound, not one that was practiced, honed, and added to the setlist.

I don\'t mean to bash RAQ; they are still better than 90% of bands I\'ve heard recently.  But from listening to this show I don\'t see how they are constantly considered comparable to or better than The Breakfast.

If anybody can point me toward a better RAQ show to listen to, I will gladly do so, but this is my opinion for now based upon my limited exposure to the band.

You\'re def. not alone on this board in many of your thoughts but what I wonder is just where are RAQ constantly considered comparable or better than the Breakfast other than the Hyperfunkalicious board?

I personally enjoy their live shows when they come through but by no means do I seek out their music unless a show is recommended.
This show has some really good RAQ songs but suffers in the recording to me.

Poor choice of words on my part... how about "I don\'t understand how RAQ is placed on the same tier as The Breakfast".  I don\'t want to start another marketing/management complaint thread because I don\'t have the information to do so intelligently/correctly, but it can\'t just be the music.

Without knowing jack about recording and whatnot, I agree.  I feel that the sound and/or recording quality doesn\'t give the show its due.  If this is par for the course for RAQ recordings, kudos to the Breakfast sound guys/tapers for consistently producing better quality than this.
