Not sure if this is proper or not but I began emailing local radio stations about the Webster Show and asking them to plug it but also seeing if they could play a tune of the album.
My new campaign is to get the Breakfast on Landry\'s Blue Plate Special. Gotta try something, right?
Here is a link to the request if anyone else is interested in emailing her, the radio station is WPLR 99.1,
http://www.wplr.com, finally the direct link;
blueplate@wplr.com
I think one of my aunts works there i might be able to beg and plead and have her make it my wedding gift. Let me get on that.
nice, should be a very special wedding gift :awwyeah:
any little thing helps, might as well call in the favors now.
do you have to register that on your wedding gift list?
Just got this reply from one of the personalities at PLR. So emailing them may not do us any good;
Jeff:
I appreciate the e-mail.
However, I am sorry to say I can\'t help you with this. PLR today is a very tightly programmed classic rock station - not like the old days anymore. The on-air staff does not have the freedom to pick the music. We still run a local bands show on Sunday nights but that is the best I can do.
Apologies,
read: corporate crap master :sigh:
i had figured the corporateness but didn\'t want to believe it...
it was worth the try though, didn\'t hurt that much...
nice efforts anyhow :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
Their total song rotation is down to a few hundred songs. That\'s it! Absolutely worthless waste of time, other than the local bands show.
if you go to wplr.com you can see the last 10 or 20 songs they played on the radio. then you can go to any other classic rock station owned by clear channel and see that their web sites are identical. when you check the last few songs that the other radio stations play and compare to wplr you can see that all the stations of the same format play all the same exact songs around the same times.
The Webster Theater show is 9 days away. Has anyone even begun to promote this show with handbills or anything? I hate to sound pessimistic but 1 week prior to a show is not going to turn heads. People are not going to drop what they may have planned to go to this show. I.E. not
**** fans, I mean.
I am hoping to get handbills in the mail today or I will be forced to go to BAR in New Haven tomorrow night.
I just think that if anyone is interested in promotions for this show, we have to kick it up a notch and get it done. I know of a few places to hit it up but again here are shows this week leading up to may 7.
