Five Best Covers: No Quarter, Sir Psycho Sexy, Legend of a Mind, China Cat Sunflower, Echidna\'s Arf (Of You)

Worst Covers: L.A. Woman, Soul Finger, SWLABR, The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill, You Enjoy Myself
How times change.  Here\'s my new list.

Best Originals
Doughboy: "Countdown to Ecstacy" era Steely Dan sound
Funky Bill\'s Circus Cliche: Pure showcase of technique
The Grand Scheme of Things: Musically, it edges out Spunk the most well-written Breakfast tune
Vera St.: Universal/mainstream appeal... and it still rocks
Gladys Pimp and Kangaroos With Me: Some of the best Breakfast jams of all-time have started right here

Worst Originals
Dig: Make it funkier and it\'s a PFUNK tune.  As is... forget about it
No Glove, No Love: Not that funny...
Cut Me Some Slack: Not enough action
Beef Barley: Good jams have come from this song, but it has definitely run its course
Phaddy Boom Baddy: Newbies (but not oldnewbie) love this song before they really learn what The Breakfast can do.  Cut out a verse or two and leave in the jams and we\'ll talk.

Best Covers
No Quarter: Ser... just ser
Sir Psycho Sexy: Chili Peppers meet Zappa meet TPalms
Peaches en Regalia: Just barely tops Echidna\'s as the best Zappa cover
Mommy, What\'s a Funkadelic?: Gets the crowd rocking and Timmy\'s fingers flying
The Other One: As long as it keeps its "once in a while" mystique, it will always be a treat

Worst Covers
Message in a Bottle: The ser ending jam isn\'t enough to save a mediocre song
Cinnamon Girl: Why bother?
Jumpin\' Jack Flash: I\'m always left disappointed, especially when it ends a show
L.A. Woman: I don\'t know how the Doors made this song popular in the first place...
Soul Finger: Stupid but harmless.
Go see your Breakfast, there are starving Leiths in California

You obviously have never been to L.A. for any real amount of time if @ all to have made the above statement. Probably a good thing though Drew.

It sounds like you\'ve been spending too much time with the little girls in their Hollywood bungalows.  Gotta keep on risin\', I guess. :)

The :drew: awoke before dawn.
He puts his boots on.
He took a face from the ancient gallery,
And he walked on down the hall

my faves are rufus and buquebus. i also love mayfly, psygn, and question mark and the mind.

i really don\'t like cosmic spaceway rhyme. i could also do without vera street, no glove no love, and drunk monk bar.

prior to today ive never seen this thread... great to read thru some history of the band and old school fans.... for a newbie like myself anyway.....

at this point my opinions are as such:
best orig...... rufus, gravity(cuz the jams have been silly as of late), and even tho i only heard it once so far, intension was absolutely disgusting in the most incredible way ever.... o ya plus i love psygn

worst orig..... is hard to say worst, but i guess i get weird during the weird part in phatty boom batty, but the chorus is obviously great

fav cover..... obviously i **** my pants when they played peaches en regalia, timmy plays that song like he wrote it himself... and memory of a free festival always makes me feel good

worst cover.... i havent heard one i didnt like yet, but even tho i loved it at first, i think i will get tired of hot for teacher if gets played too much more

worst originals - lit -the intro can be pretty cool, but the circus music kinda annoys me, anything else i usually welcome

fav cover - zappa ofcourse, i still wanna hear tom sawyer live, shakedown street i loved at wheelhouse, used to hear slipknot/help on the way alot @ callahans and loved it,  memory of a free festival....6/10 porters nuff said

worst covers - i can careless if i hear another doors cover
This isn\'t who it would be if it wasn\'t who it is.

Hot for Teacher is a GREAT song just not when The Breakfast play it.

Nothing about the song is good. Well maybe the drumming.

Other than the drumming when they play this song it makes them look like a bunch of hacks and not a ripping band just having fun.

Really it does.
