i kinda wish i had done that. relix keeps sending me text messages about upcoming shows in nyc. i dont want to pay money to verizon to get ads for shitty jam bands that are playing in a place i cant even get to very easily.

Can I make a suggestion? Make up some simple flyers asking ppl to text and put them out at the solo/band shows. And maybe even have someone make a quick announcement about the competition, highlighting the fact that instructions are on the flyers. I just think this is too cool of an opportunity to let it go by without a real solid effort. I mean, it took an effort to get the breakfast to win the jammy, but that miraculously happened and so can this. Landing this gig would obviously be big for networking - with both fans and some great bands. Good luck to the band.

can you vote multiple times from the same phone? if so, someone with free text messaging, hook it up.
From what I understand, you can only vote one time per phone. The band with the "most unique" votes will win the contest.
To get more votes, maybe the band could tap into the MySpace "friends" page... there are 6,116 people signed up for the Breakfast, and 525 signed up for TPalm\'s solo page, and if each one got a message about texting a vote, there\'s a chance that some might actually do it. :shrug:
