WormTown=not fans of the breakfast
au contraire mon frere.. the band wouldn\'t be asked to play strangecreek three years in a row, along with other wormtown events such as their fall festival, and the mill street/wormtown show from a few months back..
sadly, it is people like andy gadiel, jesse jarnow and other "scene big wigs" who get blinded by advertising $$$$ than to actually see what\'s really going on.. and that\'s a crying fuckin shame..

not to mention that anyone in the band or affilliated with the band sucks the ass of the "scene big wigs" which means that we get looked over constantly..... This, though sucks for us now, could lead to a huge payoff. If this Breakfast thing grows big enough, it should eventually get big enough where those jam-politicians will not be able to ignore us any longer......

agreed. wormtown = big fans of the breakfast.

Yeah, um, Jesse Jarnow is a freelance writer and has NOTHING to do with jamband politics. Sure his comments on Phish Vegas 04 lead to their demise, but at least he had the balls to point out the 300 pound pink elephant in the room. Other than that he tends to focus more on indie related acts.
As for Gadiel.... Yeah, I can see that. TLG wouldn\'t be where they are today without this man\'s undying love.

Uhm to think that JJarnow and his douchey opinions led to the demise of Phish is pure stupidity. Though I didnt read his comments, to think that it was anything but Treys drug addiction and the decision of the band is pure nonsense.....Come on now Joe......Unless you can find me something that says, "Phish, because of the writings and comments of one jerk
**** decides to call it quits", i am calling ser shennanigans on that comment......
and if the above comment is true regarding the demise of Phish that I would have to postulate that it truly was Leith\'s undying love for TLG that catapulted them into the jamband limelight.....

Stevie c\'mon GUY, when am I known to spout bullshit

Seriously, in his review of Vegas 04 Jarnow pointed out Phish becoming a nostalgia act of what they once were. Trey used the actual quote in the official letter released to the public. His review got the ball rolling, and like I said before, made the band address the 300 lb pink elephant in the room. Go onto PhantasyPhish and make a Jarnow thread, mention Vegas, and watch it grow like a demented Chia pet.
d00d- Jarnow works with jambands.com, editor, writer, etc. I used to email him PB setlists...
Though the quote was used in the letter, I am skeptical that Trey or any member of Phish actually wrote the whole thing on their own.....But maybe I am just naieve, stupid, or refuse to believe that any band as successful as Phish or The Grateful Dead* will let anything that some fuckwad writes in some stupid rag or on the internet bother them......
* Jarnow wrote a horrible review/commentary of a Grateful Dead show/The Grateful Dead in a Relix circa. early 80\'s. Tom, the guy who books/runs River Street Jazz Cafe, had a bunch of old Relix in the greenroom a couple of weeks back.......
Jarnow is an incredible writer. He tells it like it is with honesty, clarity and most importantly a diverse and experienced ear. This is an excerpt from a Tom Marshall interview on Relix.com
Trey was one of the first people to tell me what it was about and I didn’t necessarily agree until I started reading the PhantasyTour message board.
Oh, you shouldn’t do that. That’s not good for anybody. There are whole threads on that thing regarding what to do with head of Jesse Jarnow.
There was a while when he was the one who made Phish breakup because he wrote things about them becoming caricatures of themselves and then that phrase was in Trey’s resignation letter.
There were a couple of lines that were right from Jesse’s article. And Mike Gordon told Jesse himself at Coney Island—they were having a conversation about something completely unrelated—and Mike told him that his review had come up in their last band meeting and Jesse attempted to apologize and Mike said something to the effect of, “Hey you were honest and you said what you had to say.” And they moved on with their conversation.
Well, maybe he is the guy that made them break p. I can sleep better then. I’m not the guy.

Yeah I know, he was my editor, however he doesn\'t concentrate on the smaller things. He\'s more focused on writing features and editing reviews. When it comes down to what gets published it\'s Dean Budnick\'s decision. I would direct your disdain towards him.
any link to the remainder of that article or know what issue that is in?
thanks, treychica!
I believe I have this issue, going to grab it and read it at work.
I still stand by my shennanigans call that Jarnow\'s review is the reason for the breakup of phish......That exerpt proves absolutely nothing to me.....
No matter how good a writer he is, it doesnt mean he isnt an full of

It\'s obviously not the sole reason Steve, but it was enough to get the guys to realize the dream was over. I don\'t see where all this hostility is coming from.
