The whole point it this: PB is either in studio or going into the studio soon. Everybody?s been talking about how much PB is changing. The whole name thing, the newer pb songs sound completely different and the \'selling out\' arguments. I never would have expected \'vera st. from pb when I first heard them, but I doubt a GD fan from 65\' would have ever expected \'friend of the devil\' when they first heard it. Regardless, both songs kick ass!
After the dead released their first live album, the very next thing was the double whammy of workingman?s dead/American beauty. Both these albums were a complete turn from the sound and direction that GD had been heading. Most of the songs were short 3-5 min, with heavy influence on harmony, and they pulled from the GDs roots of country and bluegrass heavily. It probably alienated some of their fans who wanted the next dark star or eleven, but it brought thousands of new fans to the band, and made them huge.
I\'m not saying that this is what will happen to PB (though it\'d be sweet), but rather that even if they do change there name and sound or whatever the hell they decide to do, if it brings more fans, awesome, and they\'ll still be playing the old songs live. remember change is good.
Did u get the So Many Roads box set ? Chock full of nuggets huh?
Just listening to disc 3 as I signed on. Imagine 25 yrs from now listening to a PB box set:) I need to hear Vera St. everyone is ga ga abt. Is it a slower tune ? What makes it so different than other PB ? I pray this band continues to grow. As much as I love PB I can totally hear areas for improvement and growth. I mean this band is an infant when looking @ the larger picture. As long as Question Mark and Mooboo\'s keep getting played I\'m good.
Phish: 10/30/83 play first show in a dorm basement at UVM.
PB: 10/30/98 play first show in a dorm basement at UMass.
Phish: Early shows include Dead covers
PB: Early shows include Phish and Dead covers
Phish: Short, tubby, hairy, nasty drummer
PB: Short, tubby, hairy, nasty drummer
Phish: YEM
PB: The Scheme
OK, that\'s enough.
"Phish: Short, tubby, hairy, nasty drummer
PB: Short, tubby, hairy, nasty drummer"
LOL!
But really, I think Tim is better at his early age than practically anyone, but definitely Trey. Jerry was pretty nasty early on. But this band has major potential for sure... Keep rockin guys!
Are you serious? Dont change the name!!!!! If anything needs to be changed, its the promotional team. W#henever they play my town, noone knows about it and 6 to 10 people show up. Psychedelic Breakfast is a unique name dont change it. Besides when a band changes its name, it usually turns out to be the most stupid name imaginable because everyone in the band is thinking too hard about it and they get stupid.
Hey nxt time u know of a gig coming near to u, request some flyers. I guarantee, u will get a response from the grassroots promotional team. We do not have alot of $$ for promotion so we depend on people like you to spread the PB love. When I volunteered I recieved a free CD of live PB. That in itself is incentive to flyer so if I hear that you request flyers I will send you some live PB. We are currently building our grassroots promotional team and we have gone coast to coast, so wherever u happen to live Philly, wherever we will get you flyers.
As for the name change I agree if they change it that sux, I love the name but hey if it helps them to get exposure and gigs DO IT.
Hey man I\'ll do fliers for GA, NC, and SC. Ya\'ll get your asses down here! It\'s warm down here!
Glad to hear that. As soon as PB plans shows in the area we will get you flyers. Hope there is a good crowd in the SE looking for some yummy jams.
Last year I emailed Josh Kroop to volunteer to hand out flyers for the Conduit show in Trenton. He mailed me back asking for my address. I emailed my home address to him. And I got no flyers. But I would be happy to do so in the future. Does anyone know what they are thinking of changing the name to?

?
nice way to stick out the kroopinator on his excessive lack of responsibilities..
I thought Grayson was in charge of Grassroots promotion not Josh. I guess this is why Grayson is attempting to expand the grassroots effort coast to coast. I am sure the amt of shows in the NE keeps him busy.
Hey ya\'ll! PB is hotting it hard again in March/April
We are planning shows w/ Prepetual Groove and Umphrey\'s Mcgee in the South East and Mid Atlantic regions and throughout April the boys will be in California!
Spread the word and email
gray@psychedelicbreakfast.com and tell him what cities/states you can promote and we WILL get you material!
peace from the North East!
