So I went to check out relix.com today and right away I noticed the new photo of the breakfast down my the reviews section, but when I went to click on it, there was no mention of them anywhere.  Just wondering what the deal is with that ****?

it\'s a review of the freakout show.... http://www.relix.com/content/view/1915/112/

I\'m waiting for them to be on the cover!! BTW, I have a subscription to relix, and while I enjoy reading it on my lunch break, I have to say the free cds they\'ve been including for the last few months have been just horrible IMO. There\'s always a couple of good tracks on it, but the rest is just blah. It\'s cool that they do it, cuz of course i\'m down for hearing new music and possibly getting a new cool band to see. But man, lots of these "jambands" just flat out suck. I can\'t believe they never included a moxie track on one of these, or even reviewed the cd in the magazine. It sure would help the band get some more exposure, as opposed to promoting the other crap (as compared to the breakfast). U-Melt\'s "Air" was on the last one, Claypool had one on one from a few months ago, and ALO had a good one on there. Those are the only good ones that come to mind.

I\'mwell aware of it Fred.

We have been bitching at them as to their innatentiveness to The Breakfast since they trashed Real Radio, and we have not spent any money with them since that.  That combined with the strong showing at radio will hopefully motivate them to give this record the review it deserves.

Now, if that happens we might start moving some units, and we could perhaps go on their comp or run some print.

Problem is, Relix is unbelievably expensive.  They own the market and know it.  I wish the band would do a better jo of selling at gigs because that is the way we get the cash to do this stuff.

Relix in some ways does suck.  Unfortuately they the are one large sucking gorilla in the Jam scene.  They really own the ballgame.

But hey....I hold my breath.  I think we might actually get some good ink out of them.

Hope spring eternal.  If this CD jumps a bit more it will be hard for the biz to ignore the band.

I don\'t think they own as much as u say...atleast in the mental...relex is the last place I would go to for the music scene...I would read a High Times anyday over relix for music! High Times actually, believe it or not, has excellent writers I get \'em every month... But there are plenty of other media sources like Jambase.com, Nugs.net if you go to festies there are all kinds of magazines and clubs like "NOTES on the scence" or "Homegrown music"... there is so much out there, just ask me or probally anyone else on this board if you get stuck, or want more resources!

Relix to me is right there with Top 40 radio, and Mtv... explore more than what the media feeds ya! Its definetly has its rewards!

Jambase.com

Jambase can be very annoying. Lately they seem to have strayed from their core jam coverage to write front-page articles about metal and emo bands, while bands that really jam (like The Breakfast) can be left to languish with little coverage.

It\'s great that they cover other types of music, but it seems like many of those upcoming tour articles don\'t belong on there.  I looked at the top searches page and many of these metal/emo bands aren\'t even being looked at by the jambase masses, while the Breakfast always cracks the top-50.  Someone must be paying for coverage (at the expense of grassroots jam coverage).
