i guess a studio awakening wouldn\'t be as epic. well, when they bust it out acoustic at DAniel ST, they should throw that version on the live acoustic double album

the message needs to be on the album. if that makes me gay, just call me elton john

living daylights sounds like a real shitty 311 outtake.Can\'t believe you would switch that with The Message.

and the message sounds like a flamingly homsexual version of a children\'s song from sesame street or lamb chops...."come along with me...and we can act real queer... a place you want to be....because its fruity and gay.....la la la laaaaa la la....lah la la laaaa tee dah"  :vomit:

most unbreaksty song ever and huge buzzkill in any set. seen it clear the floor several times. wouldn\'t be good on album either. it really has no place among tunes as ser tunage, ep 3, synergy etc.

LD on the hand iis a grimey badass throat kicker

it\'s an obvious upgrade over the message to anyone with ears

Agreed. The Message will sound great in the studio.

Assuming they don\'t use the same studio as they did for Real Radio and Moxie Epoxy...

The name may be the same, but it was a different band when these songs were written.  I guess, I\'m on the outside looking in on this debate, but if they recorded songs that were not written by this band, it\'s just as bad as Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley adding a new guitarist and drummer and slapping Ace and Pete\'s makeup on them.  Don\'t get me wrong, I personally think that this is the best they\'ve sounded in a long time, but let\'s not make it out as this is the "same" band as it\'s always been.

I would buy a breakfast vynal.

Also, as for The Message vs. Living Daylights.

I was introduced to living daylights by the line (something like) "Now for something dark."

Maybe I listen to enough "really" dark stuff, but it sounds like a cheesey version of your protypical nue-metal ****.

No, offense. But if you do "metal" it needs to be done right.

I\'ve never really listened to 311, so I can\'t comment there.

I like the choruous and the music of The Message, I don\'t much like the "rap" style of the vocals.

However, of the two, I\'ll take The Message because it doesn\'t make me cringe.

Looks badass to me. A smaller song selection would allow them to add more meat to the jams of each song.

the reasoning behind doin an EP at this point is so that they can use a limited budget to REALLY do a fantastic job at putting 5 or so songs down on tape.  (as opposed to rushing around, stretching the budget thin to use every last second of space on the disc, but not really spending QUITE enough time on any of them to really make it something special)  if that EP does well and someone is thinking of giving them a better budget to do a full length, well what do you know, they\'ve got a whole slew of new material already written!

WOW. We actually agree on something.

This is the reason I thought they should have dropped being the Breakfast. They could have used the new members to drop all the preconceived notions that folks had about PB > The Breakfast and started fresh.

Could still play the old favorites but cease being The Breakfast and all the baggage that goes with it

yeah because that worked great when they changed their name the first time.

the only thing a name change would have done after chris joined is take them off the radar and then kill attendance which would then kill the band
