a good relix review would completely give the band the boost it needs right now..
tr00f. kids eat that
**** up.. look at Umphree\'s.. back in 04, when the Breakfast had a 2 page spotlight in relix, um was on the cover, and had been pretty consistantly fluffed within the mag leading up to that issue.. two tears down the road, well you can fill in the rest..
im not sayin that the dude dosent have the right to give the album a not so good review,im just expressing the fact that i wish he indeed did give the album a good review..
thats all.
to each=his/her own
Relix sponsors the Jammys.
Peter Shapiro owns and operates the Jammys.
He is the former owner of Wetlands etc. He also is a major figure behind the Green Apple Music Festival in NYC.
Which it seems is on for this year as well

Relix gives out the Jammys
No they don\'t actually. The Jammys are given out by a group of industry professionals,( who yes a few MAY work for Relix) Jambands.com and fan voting. Relix may produce the event but that does not mean they give out the awards. Also just because the band won a Jammy in 2004 does not mean they automatically get good press in Relix.

Well it\'s pretty clear the band only gets coverage when it pushes for it. With no one in the fulltime position to do so you get things like this happening.

Exactly Relix sponsors the event. It\'s not like People or USA Today give out The Grammys but they help sponsor them.
oh man, someone doesn\'t like the record. we should lynch him. his opinion is obviously wrong.
Its cool Jim....I know you don\'t care for the record yourself.
Well...we gave them a more song structured poppy CD with Real Radio, they bitched because we were selling out to the commercial scene.
We aired it out...they
**** because of?

??
My opininion....its because we don\'r give them ad dollars.
And at this point, we never will.
not at all, man, i love the record, i listen to it all the time. i\'m just saying sometimes i see people really flip out on here when they get a bad review, and i feel like sometimes we can be the same as the people who blindly bash the band, just on the other side of the spectrum. no disrespect toward the record, i definitly think it\'s some of the band\'s best work, and i think the production is a step up as well. when i listened to the psygn sample you posted before the record came out, i wasn\'t sure about some of the mixing decisions, but upon listening to the record as a whole i definitely see the perspective as a whole and i like it. in fact, you\'ve gotten me in the mood to put it on right now.
All good Jim..I just remember a few things seemed to be bugging you out when it came out. But look...everyone is entitled to an opinion and I\'m cool with that. State of mind goes apeshit for it....Relix is tepid. Unfotunately relix holds the high ground.
The more I think about it, the more I want to get the record to come of the Prog rags.
Huh I always thought State of Mind was less fluffy with their reviews than Relix.
Anyway,,, is there some way to invite a reviewer to a show... like a special show, Freakout style or one of the other more hyped shows of the year.
I think its really gonna take a detailed *live* review in Relix to turn some heads. And everyone here knows live Breakfast is 10000000x better than studio Breakfast.
Vic, I actually found The Breakfast in a "prog rag." It was a review of "Deuce" in Expose` magazine. The guy who wrote it is now a friend and bandmate of mine, although he doesn\'t write reviews for them anymore. When I first heard it I went out and bought it and anything else I could get my hands on. It was the musicianship that sold me on these guys, which is exactly why you would think the prog fans would like them. I believe it was a good thought to try and reach that audience, but they are a fickle bunch. I can only speak for myself, but I loved their CD\'s, but when I saw them live, it was all over. The fact I travelled to the Freakout this year is proof of that.

seems to me that it is a personal dislike...no matter what we give em they wont help out,
and to read what
**** music they do fluff boggels my mind.....
Robyn, thanks for the correction

and hoping to do it again this year!
the jam scene=pop=...... dead
jump ship now or go down with it. i think Ron and Tim should grow the front of there hair long color it black and and purple get lip rings and make the breakfast emo.
get into the metal scene or something a little more hard edged they already kind of play that way give or take a 10 minute jam. and at least metal fans appreciate musicianship not like the pop/American idol bullshit thats going on now
