Everyone was talkin up these supposed new tracks before sterling but no deals  :idunno:

guess its on in utica. will be cool to hear them, add them to the list and see where they rank. The band has already produced some great music in 2008. Hopin they take it to the next level now and throw down some ill collaborational tracks that represent the energy, fun, experimentation, and balls to the wall raging of the new sound

In order of your most favorite first and least favorite last.

1. Synergy
2. Rush
3. World Needs Us
4. Reel time
5. The Sound
6. Living Day Lights
7. The message

I still like the message and LD tho. Just less.

I need to hear them all again but heres mine:

1. Synergy
2. Rush
3. The sound
4. Living Daylights
5. The world needs us
6. Reel time
7. The message

Tough calls other than #7.

Rush has definitely produced my favorite jams so far, World Needs Us is close behind. Synergy is just large and in charge in every way, but the jams haven\'t brought me to my knees yet. It takes the top spot because of its grand structure, (still) solid jams, and potential.

Tier 1 - Rush, Synergy

Tier 2 - Reel Time, The World Needs Us, The Sound

Tier 3 - The Message, Living Daylights

If they expand on the end of Reel Time and play it out a little bit longer I think it has great potential to be a Tier 1 song. I\'ve enjoyed the range of the Tier 3 songs so far but someone has to be at the bottom.

I changed my mind I do like the singing in rush.

The whole song is sick.

Very coil like in composed and jam style.

My list stands but it\'s a close tie between synergy and rush and others too.

1/2 Synergy/Rush

3/4 World Needs Us/Reel time

5/6 The Sound/Living Day Lights

the rush singing sucks as much as the jam rocks. hard to place it.  I don\'t think it\'s really my #2 overall though.  The sound is so much easier on the ears. and LD does not suck! it\'s badass!

?  I don\'t understand what it is that some people aren\'t liking about Rush.  What\'s wrong with the vocals?  It has some of the best harmonizing that they\'ve done in a long time.  In fact, I enjoyed it more acoustically rather than electric.  Just something about it works better acoustically for me.  Electric version rocks tho.  :)

1. Rush
2. Synergy
3. The Message
4. The Sound
5. Reel Time
6. World Needs Us
7. Living Daylights

1. Living Daylights - Finally a new throat-kicker along the lines of Merge, WPOAC.
2. The Sound - A heady delight that makes me want to Sundance at the Love Lake.
3. Synergy - Classic Breakfast.  The jam can go anywhere (just check out the last acoustic show)
4. The World Needs Us/Reel Time (Tie) - Welcome to the new songwriting style and sound of this band.  HURRAH!
5. The Message - Definitely a different vibe, but I dig it.  Especially since Tim has been wanting to write a "rap" song for some time, and Mr. Oestreicher has beat him to the punch.
6. Rush - Ooooooh Sorry Chip.  I love the chippage factor in this tune, but I need to hear it some more......

With some more shows to listen to I have revised my list a bit.

1. The Sound- Still my favorite
2. Reel Time- Even with the UM vibe this song is freakin\' STRONG.! The Indy version just vaulted it up to #2.
3. World Needs Us- Getting better and better.
4. The Message- I just love to boogie to this one.
5. Synergy- Some SER insane freakin\' jams come out of this one.
6. Rush- I am still not sold but liking it more and more
7. Living Daylights- Still last but no longer sucks. The version from NJ seems slowed down from previous versions and it worked better for me but still a rather boring song for a band like this.

So again my love for lyrics is coming through strong.

I\'ll tell ya, as an "old guy", it\'s VERY rare that I love a song from the get-go. I usually have to hear it a few times and let it sink in. But, when I heard IAQ at soundcheck, I was instantly intrigued. Then, when they played it during the show, I was instantly in love with it!! Like Leith said, it contains all that this band has to offer. Matt def. hit a home run that blew out the windows of the guy\'s car parked in two spaces in the back of the parking lot "to protect it".

DING DING DING!!!!! I agree with this lineup 100%, though the two newest ones may move up on my list the more they get played. I love the intro lick in IAQ, and metropolis is a downright catchy tune in a cool-breakfasty way.

metro and IAQ are pretty much tied but both come in instantly right under rush and synergy.

I LOVE the written part of IAQ and the jam is super styled out as well. On the other hand I am not as crazy about metro music but the jam is HUGE on the very first version and has some SER possibilities.

Both were a huge step up chris and matt though.

yeah this is prob a good thing, but it\'s all about trying new things, seeing what works and what doesn\'t, and these two songs were important just as much as the better ones in figuring out what works best for this new lineup. and so the breakfast steps up their game with IAQ and Metropolis! not baaahhhd

I really don\'t understand all the Living Daylights bashing.  I actually like the song quite a bit.  Not all of their songs need to have the ability to stretch to 20+ minutes or have a prog feel to it with 5+ sections to it.  It\'s a nice dark tune.  Too much of the same thing starts to get a little stale.
