in terms of the bands popularity and fanbase, i think the name change hurt them a lot. when i talk to the casual fan about the breakfast, they almost always say "you mean that band psychedelic breakfast", i went to high school in NH 98-02 and a lot of my friends had the duece album and dug the tunes, phaddy boom baddy was like a hit single. these kids probably now dont even know who "the breakfast" is but can readily name a lot of "psychedelic breakfast" songs.  the name change also did take place when the band was starting to gain a lot of followers winning jammys and what not. i think had they never changed the name they might draw a larger crowd.

what they need is a summer tour opening for a well known band, like moe or the biscuits, didnt they used to tour with umphreys? either way it is a damn shame because as a band i dont think they have ever been so consistently tight from show to show. every band has a string of years that their playing is real tight, like early to mid 90\'s for phish, or mid to late 90s for moe. and then the tightness and intensity of jams seems to fade. dont get me wrong, as a fan i love seeing the breakfast (or any band) with a small intimate crowd, i just hope that the bands golden years dont go to waste

wow, that turned out long :that:

this is what I think they need the most.  More Exposure.  Right now they have a core audience and the new fans are people that stumble upon them or are told by a friend.  If they were opening for a larger act they would be more exposed to a wider audience.  That and there are a million bands that I have heard of but never heard, and then I end up catching them open for another band or at a festie.  I feel like, to a lot of people, the breakfast are a band they have heard of, but haven\'t heard.
