So I know we all are constantly thinking of ways to help the band. The call for donations to this site produced a few donations but what if a fund was set up for direct use by the band to get them out of the NE area?
I mean $5 from each member will get them crosscountry and back. I\'m talking about one big push. Dave can send out an email to each member informing them of the fund w/ a link to it. We can take our time and allocate the $$ for a Spring Tour, so the guys can really throw down a nice long tour on the Nation. Down South over to the West Coast and back through the Midwest. I\'m talking a tour some folk may even want to tour with for a week or 2!
So what do you all think? I know I got $5 ready!
what do i get out of them leaving new england? either way, this is a lame idea alltogether. i pay to see them plenty, i don\'t need to pay for other people to see them too.

No not really. This band has struggled in the NE area for this long AND wasted ALL of their momentum from a Jammy win. I consistently hear the reason they do not tour is $$. So they play over and over to the same 100 or so people in the same places. Wowing audiences ANYWHERE they go OUTSIDE of the NE area. They have had to use $$ to replace equipment and make a studio album,I understand that. I just think that they need help more than their management is able to acquire for them.
If the fanbase really wants to see this band take off and we all know when they tour they gain more fans why would one be opposed to such a fund?
Yeah it may seem ridiculous but how many of you guys would actually be on the tour? So it really would not be for the fans in the NE area other than to see their band get out and maybe noticed a bit more.
It may seem farfetched but can you tell me another way they can raise $$? They OBVIOUSLY have trouble saving $$ for a tour as evidenced in the complete lack of a Breakfast appearance in over a year and a half this side of the Rockies. So a onetime donation to help Springboard(pun intended) them on their way next year seems like a worthwhile endeavor to me. Guess it does not to you.

Oh yeah but going from being underpaid to almost what you\'re worth is just making it. Believe me.
If by big fall tour you mean a few dates in the south and midwest to PAY for 1 WEEK out west which is what is planned now than ok I guess you settle for less than I do.
Yeah extra money like they have any money. They are lucky to have a lighting guy willing to be paid near nothing AND drag his own lights around much less a topnotch Sound Engineer the likes of Josh Dobson who is worth leaps and bounds what they can afford to pay him. Yeah they could use any help a concerted fan effort would give them now while they really need it. Guess they won\'t find help here.
If your expecting more than whats planned for the tour I think your asking for too much. It seems perfect to me for the level they are at. I am sure there is plans to do more extensive nationwide tours in the future, but one step at time guy! They will do this tour, own it, come back regroup and do it again stronger and bigger alittle down the road.
The fact that this thread even exists is totally degrading to the band. They would never actually go for it, but if they did then they would have to play the entire tour facing backwards because they would have no right to look their fans in the eye.
maybe they should jsut sign up for welfare and use food stamps to eat on the road. then maybe we could get a decent tour.
And anyone who ever "donated" to this "cause" without giving 100 times more to hurricane relief could never show their face at a show either. Look, go to all the shows, buy merch, spread CD\'s, write reviews, that\'s all well and good. But I can\'t think of anything more humiliating than a band collecting "donations" from their fans. Ugh.

Dude they have gone BACKWARDS from where they were just a couple of years ago when it comes to touring. It was a Priority and hopefully it will again become a Priority.
Of Course there are PLANS to do nationwide tours if there was not I would be worried. The thing is every one of those plans need money. Where they gonna get it? I personally believe this band would be bigger if they did not run into problems having their stuff stolen and the problem retaining management.
So when they do come back from this mini tour hopefully they will have broken even if not made a few bucks. So now they toured and broke even or made a bit, what now? Oh I guess they go back to playing the same..... It\'s a vicious circle and I can name @ least 10 bands that are going through the same thing but maybe the thing that helps push this band over these obstacles is us the fans. Maybe but I\'m kind of doubting that now.

That\'s the POINT of the fund that the fans GIVE to the band. W/O them asking. If they had $$ they would tour point blank. If we as fans can help then we should. It is in no way degrading to give something to someone or something you care about.
As for donations to Hurricane Victims I am sure everyone here realizes there are priorities in life.
Oh and as for the band not going for it. I have yet to meet a band that would turn away money freely given to them.

Oh OK so how they get the money from us makes a difference? I see. So now if this band was making plenty of $$ from their gigs to pay their staff and not have to work in any form other than the band I could see your point. They don\'t and will not for a looong time. So we wait another 6 years and have this same conversation. Fine by me.
