In full hommage to Mel Brooks, I present the following thread:

  ~~~~~~~~The History of the Breakfast, part one~~~~~~~~
all right, this is for you staveners (who were in high school during the years of 94-97 especially). I\'ve never seen this cohernetly written down, so I want to see a list of bands that lead up to pb.
There should be 2 main banches of this tree; Jordan, and Tim/Ron/Adrien. Heres what I know, please correct:
Band one: 94-97
East Haven High School Band -
Rhythm - Joe/Dave peck/Adrien/Moki Jam drummer
Bass - Ron Spear
Guitar - Tim
what I know:
1. Tim had to sing Adam Sandlers \'At a Medium Pace\' as a freshman (hazing?)
2. Joe and Ron used to jam on primus songs during lunch period
3. That bus trip to canada... (no more need be said)
4. Noteable: Tims yearbook shows a picture of him and says under it "Tim Palmeri; is he going to be the next Jimi Hendrix?"
Band two: Naked Society
Drums - Adrien?? Dave??
Percussion - Adrien ??
Bass - Ron Spears
Guitar - Tim Palmeri
Sax  - Marc Esposito??
Keys - Fred Dileone??
Vocals - Dave Peck
what I know:
1. First found out about them from a lamp dave had/has.
2. Origional writters of \'the chase\'
3. Used to set up at football games and jam in the bleachers
4. a short lived band.
Band three: Magic
Drums - ?? (forgot name)
Percussion - Adrien
Bass - Ron Spears
Guitar - Tim Palmeri
Sax  - Marc Esposito
Keys - Fred Dileone
what I know:
1. At some point Ron Tim and Adrien started playing more jazz with marc and fred, and no longer needed a singer(?), for whatever reason, dave didn\'t come along
2. This band changed its name to moki jam
3. at some point, a cd was released, the one with the tv on the cover. I still kick myself for never buying it. Don\'t remeber if cd was released by magic or moki jam
4. Magic actually played out
Band four: Moki Jam
Drums - ?? (forgot name)
Percussion - Adrien
Bass - Ron Spears
Guitar - Tim Palmeri
Sax  - Marc Esposito
Keys - Fred Dileone
what I know:
1. the name change happened after i met dave, so it must have been during/after fall 97
2. they continued to play out more, now high school graduates
3. Several more songs were written at this time that still exsist in one form or another. for a while tim was going through and re-working older songs (hense \'the chase\' which i\'ve heard sounds a lot different then it did in high school
Band five: Adrien\'s Psychedelic Breakfast
Drums - Adrien
Bass - ??
Guitar -??
other - ??
what I know:
1. A joke title on the pink floyd atom heart mother track \'Alan\'s Psychedelic Breakfast\'
2. played out at least once
3. not much else
Band six: ________
Drums - Adrien
Bass - Ron Spears
Guitar - Tim Palmeri
what I know:
1. Tim/ron/adrien started jamming on there own on some different music. Being that magic and moki was a jazz setup, this was probably a reason to play some heavier stuff.
2. This is where the \'lets learn every RHCP song and just jam pfunk\' mentality came from.
3. Written/perfected: Funk-A (a jam in the key of Amajor), Gladys (spears), LDZ (spears), Garcian Fishbowl (palmeri), HDX (Hendrix), much more(...). Grand scheme was probably pretty much written here though i have no proof
4. don\'t know if this ever played out. I have a tape of the \'chris\'s basement show 1997\' which is all instrumental, but i think its labeled as magic
Band seven: Psychedelic Breakfast (fall98\')
Drums -  Adrien
Bass - Ron Spears
Guitar - Tim Palmeri
Keys - Jordan
what I know:
1. at some point, they meet jordan and ask him to come play
2. decide that this is better than moki jam
3. Ron, Tim, and Adrien leave Moki Jam
4. more writting / perfecting: Puppetry (palmeri), No Glove (palmeri), Superfly, Episode 1, funky bill
5. We need a name: Decided to go out under Adriens old \'Adriens Psychedelic Breakfast\' Title, but (probably classic band argument) Decided to Drop Adriens Name from the title.
6. Threw together a few covers everybody knew, and on 10/30/98 gave birth to a healthy little first set ever:
October 30th, 1998 Butterfield Hall, UMASS Amherst, MA
I: Magic Fingers, Light My Fire > In Memory of Elizabeth Reed > Light My Fire, 2001 > Garcian Fishbowl, LDZ
this set was longer, as most early pb shows and continued, probably with pfunk covers. Magic/Moki Jam had played butterfield before, so Tim called them up \'hey, I have a new band, can we play there, yada yada..\' A 90 minute tape was put in to record the band, but was never flipped, so there is only the first 45 minutes of the show that exsist. Since no one was writting down setlist, we only know order from the tape.
Post PB side projects:
TNT: A typical-sounding wedding band adrien plays with from time to time.
The DIESEL EXPEREMENTS: This is where Tim, wanting to do a show of all covers on a certain theme, will pull together other musicians to do a show. There have been several of them, and although pb members are parts of diesel experiments, they are not pb shows.
I\'m gonna leave Jordans history to someone else, I know Todd has a good idea of all the bands. btw, who/what the hell is Nauseas Dog and where does it fit in here??? (the reason i started this thread)
all i know or think is that jordan was playing with Shakedown before PB. Is a life long Stavener? has sat in with Max Creek a bunch. has one of the only Sakoya trees in backyard in this area. has hit the best shot in COUGAR (Or HORSE as some play) I have ever seen..over a garage and fence, and is a damn good keyboardist who will develop more cool sounds and effects and grow as a musician and hopefully songwriter.
Actually, Tim and I just had a random memory last friday at GTB.  He played the guitar at our Kindergarten graduation.  So maybe you should start Tim off with age: 4/5, St. Mary School in  Branford....but i don\'t remember what song, maybe he can tell you....all i remember is singing "Paint a Rainbow" some song from Rainbow Brite.  They would always make him play the guitar, like here\'s the boy wonder....i remember a beatles tune being played in 1st or 2nd grade in front of class.
I remember in early 98, a sign on Main Street in East Haven, outside The Brick House, caught my attention as I went into work at CVS.  It said Psychedelic Breakfast and I asked everyone if they ever heard of a bar serving breakfast before and how odd it was, and i was quickly told it was a band.
tim didn\'t really play much guitar in the EHHS band. Mainly just jazz band, and during the football games. That\'s from what I remember anyway. I was only there for their last two years, but I remember Ron playing stand up bass, and Tim playing the trumpet (he sat next to me actually) and sax, don\'t know which year was which though for those two. I don\'t remember if Ron was in marching band or not, think just the pep band in the stands. I do remember getting on davepeck\'s shoulders when the band played YMCA though. .
Not really sure I want to know what "that bus trip to canada" means considering I was on \'that bus\' and seeing as I dont remember much of yesterday. . . I did come across my pictures from the trip a few months ago.
