To play devils advocate.

Lets say you had something GREEN sitting on your self that you needed to sell in order to pay some bills. Would you give it away or would you try to move it ?

Kind of the samething don\'t you think ?

Plus the band is way more than accomodating when it comes to trading live shows and even boards etc.

I think we can give them this 1. Plus it effects the relationship with the label because they get paid through official album sales.

you are absolutely right. it is taken money out of the bands pocket which they deservingly need.

yea,instead of getting them into new fans hands,theys rather let em sit on the shelves,collecting dust.
The Breakfast has a TAPING policy which allows NEW FANS to gather live recordings for FREE!!! Studio albums DO make $$$ for the band even if it is a small amount.
 Get w/ it man. It\'s fine(for some) to steal from a millionaire but your FRIENDS???

I don\'t think Wah was the one who put the albums up on oink.

I do agree that we need let the band earn money from their studio albums. However, it is a double edged sword in the sense that more people would access and listen to the albums from oink. However, we should not be the ones responsible for putting them up there and thus should refrain from doing so.

maybe, I don\'t know the actual breakdown.

I figure the sales has to cover distribution, studio and recording costs and probably a few other costs then the remainder goes to the band. If they paid for it up front then it might be different.

I really don\'t know.
