Im Gonna Go Watch Some Tvkeep In Touch!
Awesome. Make at least 1/2 hour educational TV and grab your little girl to watch with ya. Peace.
The only thing Diane about TB opening up for a major rock band is that there really isn\'t anyone out there they could be opening up for. Phish shared the stage with Panic a few times, which was mutually beneficial because Panic needed the exposure up North and Phish needed it down south. The Santana slot was a score, and opening up for the Violent Femmes in Europe was KEY!! If TB ever shared the stage with anyone, coincedently enough I feel it should be Umphrey\'s. They really have a wonderful organization over there.
The two bands have distinctly different songwriting styles though. While TB rips with epics like Mooboo\'s, Tribal, GSOT, Umphrey\'s has more composed tunes and really has a handful of goofy brush off tunes. On the contrarty TB needs to retire some of the heehaw tunes IE Phaddy, VT song, What the Funk and a handful of covers. Then they need to be constantly writing and developing new material. Writing a few more grand slam epics wouldn\'t hurt that much either

What the
**** are you talking about?! what the funk is a great song, it would be a retarded, absolutely retarded, song to retire. listen to the 3/12 version!! and yeah Phaddy is kinda corny, VT song too in a different way, but all of them give diversity. writing new epics-- yes. retiring original songs, heelll no.
yeah, that\'s some crazy
****.........there\'s absolutely no need for retiring ANY of their songs. appreciate man !
I\'ve been appreciating a lot of these songs since 99. I guess with WHat The Funk I\'m tired of the generic prototype jamband chord progressions. I dig all the new songs off Real Radio, half of Deuce, most of Bona Fide and half of self titled. I guess I just want a listening challenge with TB, not bathroom breaks. For instance, What The Funk offers a jam in the same key. So say after the first chorus Tim decides to take a 7 minute solo, its all within the same progression, then comes verse 2, chorus, now a 4 minute Jordan solo, repeat same progression ad nauseum. I\'d rather hear a Buquebus because the unknown will occur and make me happy. Not only that, but I feel the band must feel more accomplished when they find themselves nowhere near the point they started out at in the song.
They definately need to start writing new tunes and just playing them. Gauge by the audience reactions. So what if in Set I, third song in they play something they never did before, it ain\'t going to kill anyone.
Gotta take a few risks and play some never befores. It has to happen sooner or later or this ships definately going to run aground.
Of course, this will all have to wait until the real radio tour ends because they need to push RR tunes. But then again may be not...
