I\'ve been to Amoeba a few times in the last couple weeks.  Can\'t wait till Breakfast heads west.

Amoeba Rox. I spent over $100 in Feb. up there. Gray just told me abt Amoeba in L.A. so looks like I gotta check that out also.
Joe you suffer from being honest to a fault when you express your feelings abt The Breakfast. I totally see that all you want is for the guys to make it but somethings just are and acceptance is OK. I have come to the realization that my desire for this band to make it big needs to be tempered w/ patience or frustration will set in.

I don\'t mind speaking my mind when it comes to the band, the perception of them in the professional world or ways they can improve themselves.  I only wished I stayed in CT.  I used to hang with Timmy, help him with stuff, give input.  I miss those days :(

I really don\'t think starting an Umph vs TB feud is going to get TB anywhere.  Just my .02

Thats where you\'re wrong.  A war is not intended by any means, don\'t let the topic line fool you.  It\'s just about getting the attention in the first place, and the rest will speak for itself.  You can\'t just come at those places w/ the same old \'hey, check out this band...\' and expect people to care, or even notice for that matter.

As far as the working twice as hard part.... The band should be proud of themselves and how hard they have been working.  They just have it rough as to being a jamband in the Northeast.  There\'s just so much out there, that its hard to get a solid continual following around here.  I\'m sure if they were from the Southest, West Coast or Midwest it would be a different story, but if you can make it up here, then you can make it anywhere, and this band has the skill to really make it up here(just my $.02).

Don\'t pimp the Breakfast on the phantasy boards.  I\'ve never seen so much drivel and immaturity in my whole entire life.  If you want to get the attention of the Umph fans go to the bort www.umphreaks.com   Phantasy kidz....... ppptthhhh, the downfall of the music scene.

As far as TB, its really about connections, and I don\'t know if they use them or not.  I just don\'t see CT being all the great for a band like TB, maybe NYC or Boston.

Igzi, Is SO CORRECT it is ridiculous. If The Breakfast was from out here say S.F. they would be big right now. Really! They would be playing to 500+ every night they played. The good thing is that they do have a pretty good start in the NE and as Steffmo pointed out in another thread Boston is turning into a Breakfast town. I remember another 4 piece that Boston made its own, does anyone else?

Amoeba is on Sunset down in Hollywood.  There are some other good stores in Oakland and San Francisco that offer lots of funk/soul/groove treasures in addition to Amoeba, though Amoeba is the largest store around.  Amoeba has so much music that there are tons of inefficiencies to exploit.  Many great albums are mistakenly priced at $1.99.  You could find a used copy of Bona Fide in the $1.99 bin while there could be another copy in the store priced at $9.99.

Then consider me the downfall of the music scene.  You can\'t categorize everybody by a message board they post on, that just foolish.   I\'m not even an Umphrey\'s fan, so I\'m surely not gonna sign up for their personal fanbases site just to talk about other bands.  PT is fair game, and believe it or not, there are some smart and worthwhile people out there.

Lastly, Boston sucks.  What was the last great band to even come from there?  The high percentage of University pricks and drunk irish locals can **** up the most enjoyable of nights.  Plus you get to pay top dollar for beer, get treated like an **** by security, and deal w/ an overtalkative, underappreciative crowd.  The shows two weeks ago in Boston and Providence were a perfect example of how a little energy in the crowd makes the show that much better.  Even through the snowstorm, the Providence crowd came through, and livened up the place.  In Boston, no one stood w/in 5 feet from the stage, and more than half the crowd was stationed at either bar, and not paying nearly enough attention.  I\'ll take a CT, Providence or Worcester show any day over Boston.

Umphrey\'s rocks, you really should give them more of a chance.  I would never ever want to pit TB against them, nope, not in a million years.  The phantasy boards are a joke.  I can\'t believe some of the **** I read on there.

"I drank some Oaty stouts, popped 2 OC\'s then dropped some Molly, puked all over my brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee then raged till 11 the next day"... hetty.

At least in Boston they\'d have a chance to rule face over a larger population.

don\'t think moving is going to make much of a difference at this point, they are a Connecticut native band, perhaps, maybe, the focus needs to be realigned! I will be the first to say that CT doesn\'t hold that much promise for much but it is postioned right between good ol\' bostonia and new york city. maybe the focus should be on building a better fan base outside of CT and take over a larger city.

Message board, fwiw, are the new form of communication, more is heard or read for that matter then one could talk to in the matter of minutes, of course, you then have to be careful as to what you say...

Patience is key right now, we have to wait this out, I expect the summer>fall to be a very hot time for these guys...
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.
