Excellent to see Hugh Laurie getting some love here - the guy, along with his co-writer Stephen Fry is a genius - as any regular viewer of A Bit of Fry and Laurie, from which that Protest Song first came, would tell you. He may have found fame Stateside with the cameo roles in recent blockbusters and now House, but check out " A Bit of.." if you can and also his early appearances in Blackadder, which is where I first came across him 25 years ago (can\'t believe it is that long!!). Just read his wiki - hard to believe he has been in so much quality stuff.
maybe the rest of these folks, but this guy has loved the young ones since the late 80\'s! i seem to remember an episode where they had to clean the toilet and it began devouring people. i could be off some, but no one could kick sh*t like vivian!
i used to be a semi-professional english accent teacher, back in the day. most of my knowledge came from the british comedy greats! i even got our drama teacher to show holy grail and excalibur in class to show variations on accents. he came up with making us write a paper on how one story could be told in different ways, so that it could be an \'official\' project.
ahh, high school theatre days.... i wonder what i did with my young ones videotape???
oh, and thanks for the bit of insight! i never realized they worked together!! youtube has a bunch of clips!
Way back then (1984-ish), via a BBC competition, a mate won a handpainted plaster gnome of Neil along with tickets to see Neil in concert - his \'Heavy Concept Album\' had some fantastic covers including Golf Girl and Hole In My Shoe - and the Pistols cover also has to be heard, along with the Hole 12" - but I digress...
Anyway, he was a couple of years younger than me and his mother wouldn\'t let him travel to London as there was no-one \'responsible\' to accompany him. I met her about three weeks after the show and she said "I wish I\'d met you before - you could have taken him." Grrrr, we could have killed her!!
Glad to be of comedic service. This isn\'t as good as the video, but gives an idea.
