I find it very interesting that:

Most users ever online was 1, 12-31-1969 at 07:00 PM.
The most members online in one day was 1, 12-31-1969.
The most posters in one day was 1, 12-31-1969.

So I am assuming that that one person signed on, signed off then went to that NYE show the Dead did in Boston?

Also, I would like to know what language the site was orginally written in, since VB (based off the tag "Powered by vBulliten?") and dirived langauges were not around until I believe 1991...

:sarcasm: Whether or not you think it was a lame joke, it seems obvious that it was, in fact, a joke.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

I brought this up ages ago.
Light travels faster than sound. That is why some people appear bright...until you hear them speak.
