it means the file you are trying to upload isn\'t a GIF or JPG or PNG file.

like picture.jpg
or picture.png
or picture.gif

why can\'t i use a custon avatar and put a photo in my profile ?? it\'s really aggrivating me because it seems like the website has something against me and won\'t let me do it. any help please

what\'s happening when you try to do it? there are size limitations, is that the problem?

it says that the picture i am using is not a valid picture. How can it not be a valid picture ?? how would i resize it to be able to fit?

download and install irfanview.

open it up, and open up your picture. click image > resize, and click on the box to save it as a % of the original. put something in there, like 50 or 75, depending on how big the original is, and click ok. then click file > save as, and save it as whatever.jpg, then try to upload it again.

still doesn\'t work. keeps telling me it\'s not a valid picture or upload failed, or upload too big. thanks anyways dave
