what the hell are you talking about? My backups are all fine. I have the session file still, I\'m just not going to go buy another pc. I still have all the video files, which are huge so no I don\'t waste drives backing them up, but i have the tapes so I can always reingest them. When I am editing I always run 3-5 seperate save files at all times, depending on however many drives I have installed in the computer at the time. That way, if the computer HD crashes all I have to do is reinstall windows and the program and I\'m back up. If any of the drives crash, I still have the session file from the last time I saved (auto ever 5 min plus random saves on my own) to every drive, so I still have that backed up and if the master video drive crashes, both the old and new program I am using allow you to asign the tapes names, so I just have to tell it to re-record the footage and it will ask me one at a time for each of the tapes and I\'ll be back in buisness.
There is nothing wrong with my backup system. I just got tired of windows being a piece of crap and decided to go get a mac. Could I have re-loaded windows and gone back and done this all again a few months later like I already have several times? sure. I could have done it months ago but I didn\'t have the time or intrest to do it, and now I have the money and I\'m sick of all that crap, so I\'m going to upgrade. If I loose a few hours of editing on one show I could care less, as the program I\'m getting will allow me to edit live like I was swithcing the cameras at the show as it happened which will increase my speed 10 fold compaired to the old way. Work is really busy right now with ncaa going on and this is pretty low on the priorities list for now, but since you asked, there you go.
