Youkilis is the man. Saviour on my fantasy team and an all around solid player.

I\'m sure he understands, Papi is Papi, he gets in pretty much on past reputation, not that he doesn\'t deserve it.

Good choice, he has been a monster the last month or so.

oof!  ahh well as they say you can\'t win them all.  Next two games look like good match-ups.  Shilling vs. Mussina and Beckett vs. Pettitte.

Wakefield tends to make me nervous, when he\'s on he\'s impossible to hit, but on his bad days, well.......

Yeah, probably. But still. He has been doing a good job. It has to be at least a little disheartening to not have your name on the ballot.

oof!

The worst was, after tying the game, watching them score off of a walk, a wild pitch, and a passed ball.

Wakefield tends to make me nervous, when he\'s on he\'s impossible to hit, but on his bad days, well.......

Well, yeah, he throws knuckleballs. It goes with the territory. And anyhow, this has always been his modus operandi.

thats damn impressive!

padres swept the dodgers on a solid 5 run bottom of the 9th comeback last night. they now have the best record in the NL. going to be a great couple weeks of interleague play.

This thread\'s been quiet lately.

I think a few a of you started digging the Yanks grave a little too early.  Boston is playing really well, (sweep of SF) so NY fans shouldn\'t even worry about catching them.

Goal 1- [-]Get over .500[/-]
Goal 2 - Take the lead in the Wild Card
Goal 3 - Put some pressure on Boston

BTW- the Mets are fun to watch.  Good young players.  The subway series is always fun.

the top 3 teams in the NL all currently hail from the west right now. the mets are a solid 3-12 in june but return home, after a 2-7 road trip, to host the twins, athletics and 4 against the cardinals. the mets might be in this hole for a little longer.

i cant wait til the red sox visit the padres this weekend. could potentially get the following mathups - peavy/beckett, maddux/wakefield, young/matsuzaka...those would be incredible mathups. very excited for this series. the team with the best era vs the team with one of the best offenses. any red sox fans want to put down a small wager? the bet is a shot of the winner\'s choice whose team wins the series. if there is a sweep, its 2 shots. block island seems like a good place to fulfill the bet. any takers?
