Spanish Phone Scam
« on: May 08, 2006, 09:15:51 am »
I received a missed call Friday night from the # (305) 503-8066. I just googled the phone number and this came up, so if any of you speak Spanish it may apply, otherwise I\'d assume you would either not answer or hang up when you didn\'t understand what they were saying, but anyway:
Quote

Reader Ben reports that 1) he received another strange Spanish phone spam scam call, this time from 401-200-9876 and 2) he still doesn’t speak Spanish.

To date, we’ve seen reports of Spanish calls trying to finangle people’s social security info, in Spanish, coming from these phone numbers: 401-200-9876, 305-503-8068, 305-503-8066, 301-392-8219, 661-375-3050, 954-678-8026, 678-310-5678, 786-718-9058, 480-929-4842, 785-718-9058, 786-879-6669, 305-371-7266, 408-822-1645 and 978-228-0011.

What a nuisance. If anyone ever grows the cojones to report this to the cops, someone outta tie these Frito Banditos up in a pinata. After all the treats are removed from their bellies, we can have a Mexican hat dance party. Then the pummeled giblets can be laid to dry in the sun with the fibers from the rope pressed in. The resultant blanket will make for a cozy siesta sheet. ˇOle!

There is also a scam out there were someone leaves you a brief, frantic, and often garbled message and leaves a phone # for you to call back.  It is a number from some caribbean island, and their equivilant of a (900) number. It bills at an outrageous rate.  If you get one of these calls, don\'t bother to return it.

Spanish Phone Scam

we got a phone bill like a month ago with a charge on it from Nevada. It was the same time that the B\'fast was out that way and I thought I made a call. Upon further exploration into the incident, we find it on-line as a phone scam. The charge was not that much about $10 or a little more but if you don\'t say anything they it will be $10 from you and who else knows how many. Some how the phone company allows fruadulent charges to appear on the house phone bill.
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.
