Question about Ticketbastard
« on: March 23, 2006, 08:29:46 am »
Ok, so now that we are in the age of the internet, does anybody know if people still go to ticketmaster outlets to get tickets the second they go on sale?  I haven\'t been to one in years, so I\'m just wondering if people think that it would be easier to get better seats online or at an outlet???

imo unless your first in line at the venue it\'s at, your better off online. Remeber, if your 15 people back in line and you don\'t get to the window until 10:10, think how many people online and on the phones have already gotten tickets. Add to that the whole wristband and breaking the line orders to prevent people camping out, etc.

I used to love waiting in line for the tickets, but these days, I either fan club it or go online.

that\'s what i was thinking, but I also thought that since EVERYONE has the internet, does anybody even go to outlets?

but it\'s gotta be internet now, just found out that the pepsi areana show is tickets.com, not ticketmaster list the meadows

i still usually go to stand in line. if I\'m not within the first 5-10 people i just go home. Luckily every time I\'ve done it i scored. Phish\'s Anniversary show in Boston, Dave and Friends at the Dunk and a couple others. i go with like 3-4 people and spread out in the line and wait for the lottery. hasn\'t failed me yet.

I guess it depends on the concert. When I was getting Phish tickets we would have teams of people going to different outlets, trying from cell phones and people at computer. I even made my mother get tickets off the computer. The best seats I ever got were from the internet. Every once and a while I\'d score tickets with good seats from an outlet. My favorite method of getting tickets use to be good old mail order.
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.

i haven\'t been to an outlet to buy tix since phish in 97 or 98.

best method - two phones, plus internet.  phish radio city, hiatus ending nye + hamptons, all the tough shows = not a problem

best I ever heard of was peck standing in line for the 2 long island shows while on the phone for the two rhode island shows back on phish\'s 98 island tour.
