jesus christ... 4th row floor, john\'s side.. no way i could possibly put it into words. absolutely sick. could not believe they played blood sugar and nobody weird.. i just wanted to say \'fuck the recording\' and freak the fuck out.. i kept my cool though (as best as i could while making multiple sexy explosions in my pants).. listening back a little bit now.. gonna have to listen back on some real speakers, and when my ears aren\'t ringing so much.. sounds like it may be a little overloaded at times, but overall pretty good, considering it was so close..

i didn\'t record TMV tonight, though i plan to other nights.. they were good; not great.. there was a good amount of wanking, but also a lot of good shit.. oh, and if jim cobb and prince got together and made a baby, it would be Cedric Bixler-Zavala. seriously.

picture two grown men masturbating at each other while really good musicians play 4 rows in front of them. thats what Dave and Mike will be doing in Montreal.

great show last night.. unfortunately, the sound sucked.. it started off ok, but it sounded like during Charlie, the levels just got cranked to an uncomfortable level, and they stayed that way for the rest of the show.. like i said, i thought the show itself was great, but the sound was just way too overloaded..

it was great to hear YPGTABOF, and i had tears in my eyes during Strip My Mind.. i\'ll also take I Could Have Lied over Under The Bridge ANY day.. oh, and READYMADE!! :D

it was funny when john started ICHL, anthony had to come running out from backstage to get to the mic in time.. afterwards, anthony said \'i was literally in Woosta when you started that song\'..

i do have to say, The Mars Volta had a great night last night. MUCH better than montreal. they sounded better, they played better, and they didn\'t even play anything off of Deloused!

these next 2 weeks are gonna suck waiting for NJ..

Fun show last night w/ Team Pecoraro!  Nothing like scoring a ticket at 6PM when you had no plans on going.  Definitely some awesome song choices last night.  I just want to hear one song from Freaky Stylee one time, currently 0 for 4 shows, but I\'m not complaining.  RHCP is awesome.  I was kinda realizing how I\'ve totally grown up with this band.  I\'ve never even been a huge fan (at least compared to the way I\'ve done Phish/Breakfast/MMW etc.) but as I listened to them play Blood Sugar Sex Magic I was suddenly transported back to summer camp and Fortune Faded made me remember covering RHCP later on in bands in high school.  You don\'t have to be a huge RHCP fan or even own every album or anything, but if you grew up in the 90\'s at all and you don\'t like RHCP, there\'s something seriously wrong with you.  What a great band.  Long live RHCP.

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and GNARLS BARKLEY in 2007!
Category: Music

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS AND GNARLS BARKLEY
WILL HIT THE ROAD TOGETHER NEXT YEAR

LOS ANGELES, October 16, 2006 -- Red Hot Chili Peppers and Gnarls Barkley will hit the road together for three months (January to March) in early 2007, playing arenas across the United States. Specific dates will be announced shortly.

The Chili Peppers launched their current U.S. tour to much praise in August, in support of their critically acclaimed double album Stadium Arcadium. Produced by Rick Rubin, the album debuted in May at ..1 in 28 countries around the world, including topping the Billboard 200 on their home turf. Thus far the album has spawned a pair of ..1 Modern Rock hits "Dani California" and "Tell Me Baby."

Gnarls Barkley, the combination of Grammy-winning producer Danger Mouse and superstar vocalist Cee-Lo Green, released their debut St. Elsewhere CD this year to critical acclaim. Their first single, "Crazy" garnered more radio format play than any single in U.S. radio history -- with nine radio formats and a U.S. radio audience of nearly 100 million. A top five album in almost every country in Europe, the band was recently nominated for two MTV Europe Music Awards for best song and best video. St. Elsewhere is currently on its way to double platinum sales in the U.S.

Safe to say it will be a powerful concert bill.

Stadium Arcadium is the ninth studio album from the Chili Peppers. All told, the band has sold more than 50 million albums, logged seven multiplatinum CDs and earned a record-setting ten .. 1 Modern Rock hits.

They also continue to ride the crest of the ongoing awards season, topping nominations for the 13th annual MTV Europe Music Awards with best rock act, best group, best album and best song for "Dani California." The band also tied for most nominations for the 2006 American Music Awards where they are up for Pop/Rock nominations for favorite and, duo or group, favorite album and favorite artist in the Alternative Music category. Additionally, Chili Peppers have been nominated for the 2006 mtvU Woodie Awards on MTV\'s 24-hour college network for Alumni Woodie (aka The You\'re Still OK in our Book Award).

Gnarls Barkley is currently preparing a limited edition deluxe package of St. Elsewhere for release November 7. The CD+DVD package includes a 92 page booklet, four music videos and bonus songs from live performances.

Gnarls also recently released a video for their second single, a cover of the Violent Femmes classic "Gone Daddy Gone."

E: I Could Have Lied, You\'re Gonna Get Yours > Give It Away > jam

** no lyrics.

^^ Live footage shot for the Snow video. Crowd was given pen lights on the way into the show, and Flea told everyone to light them up during the song so they can get something cool looking for the video. Snow (confetti) came down on the audience mid-song.

i\'m pretty sure that\'s the order, but i\'ll have to listen back.. almost identical to boston, save Stadium Arcadium and Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow (:thumbsup::thumbsup:). definitely a \'warm-up\' show to get back into the swing of things.. anthony forgot a LOT of lyrics, including most of Can\'t Stop.. :sigh:

Flea was puking behind his amp(s) during WYSLMT.. "vomit, and piss, and of course love and peace, thats all the shit that makes up music!"

tough recording conditions..  i had obnoxious-screamer-girl to my right, and no-rhythm-clap-on-every-beat-guy right in back of me.. also, definitely the drunkest crowd of the three shows i\'ve seen so far..

the mars volta didn\'t really do it for me last night.. they had their ups and downs, but overall, i didn\'t like their set nearly as much as boston (could be that one 30-minute tune they played).. and i missed a couple minutes of their set because they went on at 7:30 sharp (which they have been, but last night\'s tickets said 8:00, and the others have said 7:30).. well, at least i know for tonight..

i better go post the breakfast setlist before i get yelled at..

the mars volta were insulting last night.  first, a song that i\'d never heard before.  didn\'t have much substance to it.  i\'d say an A section and a B section repeated over and over.  then a half hour long jam in which they played one riff ad nauseum with cedric wailing inaudible words that he probably made up anyway with lots of silly panning/delay effects on his voice.  at a certain point i felt like they were intentionally fucking with me, as when it seemed like they were going to start to do something interesting or different or even better, PLAY AN ACTUAL SONG, they\'d bust back into that one riff.  i felt almost as if i was being mocked by the band.  once that finally ceased, a less than stellar performance of a tune off their most recent record.  end of set.
