Did you dig it when the sampler came out last fall or did you need a sick live version for full appreciation?

I thought it was a great song the first time I heard it.

Real Radio definitely does it justice for those weren\'t believers prior to the release.

i listened to Real Radio straight through again today, i gotta say that i dont think this album would be all that great for a noob to the band. deuce really turned me onto the band, i think the song writing (especially musically) is just way better. i think the songs are more original, they have a feel to em like they just happened cuz they were supposed to.  i personally like real radio, but i think its because i already know what the band has done with the tunes live so i can appreciate the studio versions a lot more.  basically im just saying that if i had never heard the band and someone said "listen to this disc, youll love em" id listen and say "why?"  im still gonna give people deuce without a doubt. i dont know, im ready for criticizm, so go ahead people.

The feel you get from Deuce songs can be explained by the fact that it is basically a live album just done in a studio. We all know that the MAIN strength of this band is their ability to improvise so damn well. RR is a better primer for newbs in that it shows that this band does not JUST JAM. Duece is FILLED with jams. RR is filled w/ songs. Big Difference. Do not get me wrong I absolutely love Deuce and I started a thread about how awesome an album it is. I just think RR is a better newb primer because this is where the band is NOW. Deuce will always rule my SOUL but RR is SER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

leith, i see what youre saying. but i think rr being way more newb friendly, like klout said, is not necessarily true. for one, like it or not, the breakfast is part of the jam band scene. those who are turned on to em to start are for the most part gonna be peeps who love jams, especially the kind that are on deuce where theyre so tight and have almost perfect progressions that they feel composed at times. speaking on behalf of the couple dozen people (w/virgin Breakfast ears) that ive had listen to both Deuce and RR, they went crazy over Deuce and RR didnt keep their attention. and it wasnt one of those cases where i constantly said "listen to this part" during tribal or somethin and then kept my mouth shut during RR, i throw them both on as background music during parties large/small and people always say, "Holy shit! what are we listening to right now!?" when deuce is spinning. really havent gotten that at all with RR.
