So... I missed Porter\'s for a ballgame. I will start by saying that I am sure Porter\'s would have been more fun.
However...
The game itself was alright. Lowe didn\'t pitch terribly which was a nice treat. (Actually, 7 scoreless innings, which suprised me, because I didn\'t think the pitching looked THAT good. But hey, can\'t argue with the scoreboard.) But, we weren\'t hitting anything either. Weak. Even weaker was our defensive playing- the fielding was TERRIBLE. Really really bad.
We won though, Ortiz hit a homer in the 7th... Manny almost screwed it up by missing a catch, which allowed a run (I don\'t care if the wind was blowing- no excuse, he was prancing around out there like an idiot)... then in the bottom of the ninth Damon walked, Bellhorn hit a double, and then Ortiz hit a single to right field. When he hits the ball he\'s pretty good.
My seats were... well, not too bad. Little did I know when I got the tickets from the old man that they were .406 club seats. Holy shit. There was a private suite which we shared with about 8 or 10 other people (ok I guess therefore it wasn\'t entirely private.) In this room we had a bathroom, free beer (Sam Adams of course, hahaha has to be a Boston brew), free wine, a little bar, tons of food (fruit, salad, and all sorts of hors d\'ouerves
, plus ice cream and cake and such), leather seats and a couch, tables, etc.; a pretty nice setup I must say. You could either sit behind the glass (lame) or go outside and sit in our rather spacious seating which was located a bit right (quite high up) of home plate, so the pitches were sort of coming at us. I could see the whole park without having to turn my head at all. Freakin unbelievable.
The funny thing is, we almost didn\'t get to go in because we didn\'t meet the dress code (collared shirt for guys, no jeans for girls, neither of us fit the bill). Dress code at a ball game. Imagine. ha!
