In any case, TEAM USA showcased some wonderful talent. (Blackhawks Patrick Kane a personal fav) Along with all the other NHL Players on other teams.  (Ovechkin is just plain nasty...love it!)  One can only hope that maybe just maybe the olympics will carry a fire for hockey over to regular nhl games.  NBC for the next Two sundays is showing Blackhawks games.  DEF must watches.  This sunday vs. Detroit, next Sunday vs Caps.

Team USA did have some great players, and I learned alot of players who are not NESN/VS?NBC regulars (read, players who do not play north and east of the potomaic/ohio)...how I wonder who NBC is really compeating against for sunday afternoon hockey.

The NBA, for whatever reasons, has a much larger following in the US, and already has Sunday afternoons after football is over. There is also NASCAR to deal with, neither of which, I think can be won over by watching Pheonix play Carolina, or Blackhawks and Caps.

I don\'t know when a good time to target would be, but I don\'t think that it\'s Sunday afternoon. Not to be unoriginaly, but Saturday nights has been working in Canada for a long time.

To gain more interest, the playoffs and cup finals need to be on a network station...

Interestingly, since Comcast (owns versus) just bought NBC from GE...this might happen.

lovin\' the playoffs this year.  the last two penquin-ottawa games were insane.  and yesterday afternoon\'s blackhawks was a reminder why hockey has passed basketball as my favorite sport of all time.

i agree the playoffs have been amazing so far.  every game of every series seems to be incredibly intense and each have unique stories.  i dont think any series so far has gone as expected.  its crazy to think that theres still another month and a half of playoff hockey to be watched!  as a buffalo fan i just hope they are still a part of it.  although partially biased since im a sabres fan, the sabres-bruins matchup has been my favorite to watch, aside from flyers-devils.  the goalie matchup is INSANE.  each game both goalies are making saves you would never see any other goalie make.  theyre also probably the most even first round matchup.  that chicago game yesterday was great to watch as well.

holy fuckin hawks. most intense hockey viewing experience ive had possibly ever. they finally looked interested. hoping theyll close shit out in game 6 and start rolling how they should.

congrats to the new jersey devils for being the first team knocked out of the 2010 NHL playoffs.

watching hawks right now.  predators are holding on.....    earlier game on vs with the caps was pretty damn disappointing (for being a partial caps fan).

i\'m happy for the bruins.  def have heart and deserved to advance.

hawks move on.  (yessss!)   Slightly worried about the Canucks though, they are a dangerous team.  hawks beat them last year in the semis, but in reg season this year, it was halfsies. so, should be an exciting series to watch.

I know you\'re a hawks fan, but I am pulling for Vancouver in this one.

Game 7 TONIGHT in Pheniox. This is the most underrated sports story of the year. The Coyotes are basically a not-very-good-team that was given an ultimatum by the leauge in the fall; sell more tickets or we move you.

In reponse the players releasized that the only way to get consistant attendance (besides $10 seats) is to win. And win they have.

GO COYOTES, I hope they destroy the Red Wings.

Hawks/Vancouver is going to be fucking wacky. Last year\'s series was full of Canuck bitterness, and the Hawks took care of business more easily than expected. I think this series has 7 written all over it.

I\'m really pulling for Phoenix too. One, I hate Detroit. Two, a playoff team without an owner? Who the fuck are these guys? Shweet.

It would blow if the Caps got bounced. I have such a man-crush on Ovechkin and want to see nasty highlights of him deep in the playoffs. Perfect scenario (for me) would be Hawks in 7 over the Caps with Ovechkin dropping 30 points in the series or some shit.

And Yoda, how \'bout them Devils, you fucking douche bag!

so agree with this.  had the pleasure of going down to dc to see the caps a few times. would love a chance to see hawks-caps playoffs in person.

first off.....Blackhawks=embarrassing last night. probably the worst they have played all season and they had to pick game 1 vs the vancouver.   They couldn\'t get it together and get the puck out of their zone.  terribly sloppy.  we were flipping back and forth between this game and the Celtics, and I know when my husband is pissed at his team when he was like, you don\'t have to flip anymore. just stay on basketball (this was somewhere after the fourth goal...)   I hope we see something different happen on Monday.

Nextly, bummed the Caps are out.  What a disappointment to have them out this early.

Thirdly, the Red Wings/Sharks game the other night was awesome.  Very chippy.  Looks like a fun series to watch.   Think I am routing for San Jose.
